My husband and I were flying in from FL to celebrate our Grandchildren’s Birthdays, who were coming up from downstate for a weekend in the City. I wanted to plan just a little surprise party for them and was FORTUNATE enough to happen on to a Guest Service employee, Ms. SUZANNE, who was a WONDERFUL help. She facilitated the balloon company( Party city), the bakery for the cake(Paris Baguette-owner, Sherry), a refrigerator (for the cake) Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries- that the GRANDS thought were the BEST! She was able to upgrade our room to have more space for the PAR TAY and even gave each child a “treat bag” from the Sheraton! AND Otto, the Bellman, facilitated delivery of said items to the room for the SURPRISE! To say that Suzanne went OVER AND ABOVE in her guest service role is an UNDERSTATEMENT. She also called the day before our arrival to reiterate the plans and the day after we got home to make sure everything was satisfactory. It was like having the BEST PRIVATE PARTY PLANNER. The hotel staff was ALL VERY helpful and the DOORMAN was also extraordinary‼️ This superior HOSPITALITY will bring us back to this hotel. Thanks again to Suzanne and the Sheraton- You are treating your guests with CARE! PS- adult children also loved having Starbucks on site AND the quickest most efficient room service!

We Called the day before make sure everything is ok it was. The day of our flight got canceled then rebooked then that got canceled. Called the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk to re schedule the reservations, and they told they could not reschedule the room or get my money back that it was my problem. Very bad Service

This year we decide to do something different for New Year's and hosted in a hotel. Invite the family in from out of town and celebrated it. Chicago-style so we booked at the Sheraton and draw a surprise. It was nothing but the website on Priceline offer there was not a kitchenette within the room. The chandelier over the dining room table was 30 and it only had one light bulb. The wine cooler freezer in the bedroom smells so bad that what it open up it just always smells so bad. It was horrible y'all and for the amount of money that we spent it was horrible. They promised that they were bring up microwave and a refrigerate hub which they never did called down. You got attitude at the front desk. It was just very unprofessional. I mean very unprofessional. I won recommend this hotel for anyone not if you trying to impress family and have a nice elegant gathering. Next time I pay the extra $2 or $300 in go back to the reds cuz it's worth it. Don't wish your money here. It looks can be deceiving. This hotel takes number one. It offers nothing but the riverwalk the rooms are outdated. It's not worth it

This hotel is awesome the only reason I didn’t give it a full five stars is the parking situation. 65 per night and the gate never worked. Can find cheaper parking nearby. Otherwise, it’s centrally located and very nice! Staff was great too. Would definitely stay again.

This is not a 4* hotel. Upon check in (after waiting in line 15 min) we were surprised by the $25 resort fee, since we booked on hotwire. The good thing is it's a $25 food/beverage credit. The bad thing is the lobby bar was closed. The room is just dated. Total lack of outlets, full (not queen) beds, nowhere for 2nd person to put books/phone (nightstand only between beds), heater buzzed incessantly. There's a mini bar fridge but it was stuck shut. Then we found a defunct dust-covered mini bar shelf was stashed behind the tv. The bathroom was the real problem. Lack of ventilation meant smells/steam invaded the whole room. Tub faucet not connected to the wall. Toilet wouldn't stop running so after waiting on hold w guest services 5 min I fixed it myself.

We wanted to stay near the Riverwalk for our last night in Chicago, and this seemed to be the bet -- not the lowest prices, but what looked like a lovely room. We were fooled. This is a budget hotel with lipstick on. Our room, which was spacious and had a nice view, also lacked: working coffee- and tea-making facilities, a working refrigerator, and bathrobes. In addition, their was no vanity mirror, and no other amenities of any kind. Totally bottom-of-the-barrel. To add injury to insult, the property charges a $25/day "resort charge" for -- let's see -- WiFi, a bag of popcorn, and ... not much else. This is outrageous. There is nothing at the property worth that charge, it's simply deceptive pricing. For various reasons I couldn't return my rental car the Sat after T-giving, so that's another charge: $65/night, but get this: for SELF-PARKING. Not even Valet. And catering as they do to the conference crowd (which I'm not a part of), the bars are stupendously overpriced. On the good side: I found the staff to be pleasant and attentive, and I tipped them generously -- they're not responsible for the corporate shenanigans!

I stayed at the Sheraton while attending a conference during Nov 2023. I found the location to be beautiful and the views from the rooms are breath taking. However, for the amount of money they charge, I could not believe there was not a refrigerator or microwave. I also had dinner at Shulah’s Steak House. The food was just ok, but just like the rooms at the Sheraton, EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. The worst part was that the staff was horrible. It seems that nastiness is what they are hired to serve to guests, because there was a lot of it being dished out. There were charges on my bill that I still have questions about, but since the accounting department has not returned my call, it doesn’t seem like I’ll get those questioned answered. The best part of my stay was interacting with the housekeeping staff. Each person that I had the pleasure of speaking with was extremely kind and helpful. The front desk staff and the restaurant hostess could take lessons from them. I must say, I am truly disappointed in my stay at the Sheraton and it did show me that you don’t always get what you pay for. The housekeeping staff, beautiful lobby and room view are the only reason I gave 3 stars.

Not a bad hotel but I considered it way overpriced compared to other hotels within the same price range. Stayed here for a conference. Room was nice. You are right on the Chicago river, and that is nice. Within walking distance of some places to eat.

We were there for a conference, held in the hotel. Check-in process was somewhat slow. The room was good-sized with a king bed. Had a little trouble with the TV, but staff were able to fix it quickly. Free wifi and worked fine. Hotel is clean but in need of a bit of refreshing - fabrics wearing thin, new paint needed in places. I sat in the lobby at a table with outlets to work, and the plug would not stay in the outlet. Food is very expensive - when we arrived, not that late on a weeknight, only the steakhouse was open, and soup/salad/one glass of wine was $60/person. Very convenient location - 10-minute walk to the El, views of the lake and river.

Good stay - agree with some of the other reviews that the hotel is aging. The check in process is awful - long lines and at 4p our room wasn’t ready so we had to wait another 20min in line once they texted us that the room was ready and to pick up the keys. That process needs improving. Even with mobile check in, people were having issues. Otherwise, nice pool & sauna for the kids, great location, and awesome views of the river and city! For (Titanium) elite perks, we used a SNA certificate and got a 1 bed suite for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids 8 & 9). It’s was nice and appreciated but the sofa bed was semi-broken and extremely uncomfortable for the kids. A standard 2 queen room probably would have been better. The $25 destination fee is a little annoying but you can enjoy most of it by getting something at the hotel bar or restaurant. If you stay 1 night, you have to use it up the first night, not the next morning. Outside of the $25 food and bev credit you get some other perks for the fee like a key chain, mug, and bag of Garrett’s popcorn. Breakfast the next day at Riverside was awesome! They had an impressive food spread and you get a voucher for 2 people for being elite. Our server, Luz Lema was amazing. That was the highlight for us.
