This hotel is one of the grand hotels of Chicago. Many a famous person has stayed here. We stayed in a king deluxe room. I must say the room was laid out nicely. The fan for the heat control ran constantly eventhough on auto setting. This made it hard to sleep because of the noise. The bathtub had mold around the... More

Although the Conrad is a favorite of mine, I thought I'd give the Drake a shot since I had reservations at Spiaggia on the evening of 12/17. As others have mentioned, the Drake is an acquired taste with many old-world, charming qualities. But at times, it wore thin. A lot of the woodwork was dinged up, the rooms are a... More

I travel frequently to Chicago and this is the only hotel I stay at. I was there in August, September and November this year. Bell staff is excellent, rooms are always top notch. The restaurants have excellent menus. The rooms are always clean. The location can't be beat if you want to shop or walk the lakeshore. More

Went to Chicago for the weekend and stayed at The Drake. Room was very comfortable (including the bed) and all the people we had contact with were very nice and helpful...we tried to make a reservation in the Palm court for cocktails and at first were told they were full until we mentioned we were staying there and then they... In town for the Bears game. Stayed there 12/18. Rates were very reasonable. Could not get an early check in, because of it being full the previous evening. Booked a King room with sofa sleeper. Lobby was fantastic; so well decorated and bustling with activity. Front desk people were so friendly and helpful. Bell Hop/Car Hop service was fantastic. We... More

I recently spent 16 days here on business, and I loved the feel of the hotel. It seemed to be from a diifferent era - the wonderfully decorated lobby was bustling, they serving high tea daily which was very popular, and there were parties, meetings, and gatherings of all sorts in the various banquet rooms. A nice change from the... More

I had always heard wonderful things and had always wanted to stay at the Drake. From the minute we arrived it was downhill! I've never had a worse experience and would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone! The staff was the rudest I've ever come across. No smiling faces, no welcome or even a hello. At one point when leaving..I... More

This hotel is very elegant and historic with rooms who get the view of Lake Michigan. Some of the rooms can be very romantic, other kind can be small and dark, all depends of the budget! Now as an old fashioned thing, there won't be wifi but they do have a hard wired internet connection. The hotel lobby court is... More

My husband is from Chicsgo and still loves to visit. On his 70th birthday, I took him to The Drake fo a special treat and what a treat it was! We had a reservation on the concierge floor, but because of the birthday, we were upgraded to a suite overlooking the city and the lake. It was a stunning view!... More
