My sisters and I stayed in the Captain's Quarters on a sisters' getaway weekend. This suite has a mini kitchen, lovely bathroom and bedroom and comfortable living room with sleeper sofa. It also has a spa in the downstairs area, which we never used---looked nice, though. The included breakfasts provided by the hosts were ample, homemade, and different every day.... more

A truly cannot say enough about this wonderful place. Galena is sooooo picturesque and quaint that I almost didn't want to leave. The downtown area is a little hilly and we really enjoy getting out and walking around, so this was a fantastic location. Very close to downtown, and yet far away from the hilly terrain (very hilly) this part... more

My husband and I were guests at the Captain Harris Guest House last weekend. As our trip was planned at the last minute, the only room open was the River Room, which is the least expensive room and smallest room. My husband and I drove to Galena for a short getaway and made a last minute decision to stay at the Captain Harris Guest House. Anne and Frank were very accomodating and the breakfast was delicious! We decided to come to Galena to get away from the big city for the weekend. We stayed in the Captain Harris Guest house's Honeymoon Cottage , which was actually way nicer and cozier then I had even expected! My wife and I stayed at the Captain Harris Guest House in April. Having never been to Galena, we did not know what to expect. My husband and I stayed at the Captain Harris last winter and were very cozy in the Captains Quarters Suite!
