My husband and I stayed here for one night...very quiet and clean. We had one of the themed rooms witha fireplace...Very nice...it was spacious yet cozy. Traveled to Galena with a group of (senior) adults on motorcycles, stayed overnight Fri & Sat (8/15 & 16) Throughout out stay the front desk was noticably understaffed with a line of guests standing, or waiting most times we walked through the lobby. Small bar / lounge area adjacent to front desk wasn't staffed at all - except for the overly busy desk person who had to take turns checking in guests and serving beverages!... more

Second time we stayed at this place. Very comfortable room and amenities for the price. Hot tub and pool area clean and roomy. Very good continental breakfast . Samll bar area for evening cocktails. Not too close to downtown area so plan to drive there. Wish they had a business center. Would be nice to check email. Not everyone travels with a laptop. more

We just got back from a wonderful trip to Galena and the stay at Stoney Creek was wonderful and relaxing. We were greeted in our suite (we also had 2 toddlers) with a nice basket of a 1/2 pound candy, full bottle of wine, candle and champagne glasses (all of which we were able to keep). We just returned from our second stay at this establishment and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is very woodsy and inviting and the rooms themselves are exceptionally clean and well-maintained. As we traveled with our two children my only perceived drawback is the size of their pool -- it seems somewhat small to me but did not appear to bother my children (11 & 8) in the least. Spent one night with husband and 8 yr old son. The hotel decor is quite charming and clean throughout. The room, lobby, breakfast room and pool area are all just darling. The only disappointment was our standard room didn't have a microwave or fridge. We wanted a suite but none were available. Next time we will book earlier. Yes, we will be back.
