According to the Choice Hotels website this property is "newly renovated" and "All rooms are newly renovated...". The room we stayed in must have been skipped and by the comments from other guests at the front desk at checkout it wasn't the only one.
This appears to be a family run property with several of the family members handling houskeeping, maintenance, front desk, etc. The first thing my wife and I noticed upon entering the room was a film of dust on all the surfaces including the table, tv and window sill. The bath tub was developing mold and here were long dark hairs in the tub; the blanket under the comforter had several cigarette burns, the sheets had not been tucked so when I pulled back the top cover all the bedding came off; the sheets were so wrinkled it seemed they had not been changed (not sure if they were or not); near the window the carpet tack strips poked throguh the carpet causing my wife painful prickling when she stood by the window... more
