We have wanted to visit the Dog and Doublet for ages, so when we were passing by at lunchtime we popped in. I was a nice day(!) so everyone was sitting outside, but I did have a look at the restaurant and it looked lovely. The outside is very pleasant and the benches look quite new. The garden menu is... Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent visit to The Dog and Doublet. Our garden menu is intended to be a light snack menu purely for diners outside. We do have a fully extensive menu which can be viewed on our website www.doganddoubletsandon.co.uk. It is very difficult to offer the full menu outside. I am sorry that you thought... More

Our most recent visit was on Valentines day evening of 2013. Set in the small area of Sandon, this lovely pub has a very up market and prestigious feel, but it serves fantastically priced and great valued food. A lovely romantic pub for a couple to dine out in, I highly recommend it and the staff are always warm, polite... More

Visited for the early evening fixed menu with a large group of friends. Was slightly concerned beforehand that, being a large group this would affect the service but this was unfounded. We all had had our meals at the same time, hot, nicely cooked and presented. All the staff were pleasant efficient and helpful when required. Slightly on the dearer... More

Consistently good food. Excellent choice on a varied seasonal menu using local produce. Good service with attentive staff. Advisable to book as it is a busy venue set in a beautiful rural location. We have been several times and each time the food has been excellent. Superb.

Nice clean restaurant, friendly staff, food a little bit on the pricey side, especially for a pub. Toilets were not spotless, which was a shame. The main disappointment was the waiting staff in clear sight and earshot talking about how 'wasted' they were last night and what they did! Not great when you just want a pleasant lunch.

We were a party of ten on a busy Saturday evening and they coped very well with our needs and demands. The food was first class;sufficient choice made from locally sourced produce. The service was excellent, friendly and efficient. Should you give this establishment a try? Come on! You know you should!

A busy Friday night in any venue will always lead to slightly longer times for drinks & menus but this was conscious of all front of house staff who offered apologies for the waits. There was an impressive selection of drinks behind the bar catering for all diners personal preferences. The menu looked appealing & the food tasted excellent. Definitely... More

We have visited a few times but we wont bother again now its had enough chances, the food is ok the restaurant cost a lot to refit a year or so ago but it is so noisy like a school canteen! chairs on floor etc, it is too open and not homely. The food is ok but ok isn't really... More

We booked a table in the Arch Way, a month in advance, and were shown to a table which I would say was more towards the bar area, even though there was a vacant table in the Arch Way, we let it pass. Drinks arrived promptly, a good choice of real ales, and served at the correct temperature. We found... More

It was my first visit to the Dog & Doublet last week and enjoyed my Sunday lunch. The service was courteous and attentive and the room nicely laid out. The price/quality of the food was almost spot on, with everything nicely cooked and portions generous, and some good wine choices at reasonable prices.
