We were pleasantly surprised to be staying in room 9 which was part of a barn conversion of rooms. Our room, whilst quite small was modern and had everything you needed - t.v. wi fi access, modern bathroom with large walk in shower cubicle. The mattress however was extremely hard but we were only staying for one night. The pub... More

My last review of this place appears to have dropped into the tripadvisor ether... Anyway, this is a delightful little place to stay. The location is super (even in the torrential rain that greeted us!) if you want to explore the countryside of the Chilterns. The rooms are nicely appointed, if a little on the small side - you can't... More

Looking at the reviews others have had a better experience than us so maybe this was an aberration but it is true nevertheless. We and two friends stayed for 3 nights over the early May Bank Holiday. Externally the place looks very appealing and it's obvious a lot of money has been spent, but that's not continued inside. The rooms... More

Friendly hotel in a small village near the A416. Room was a little claustrophobic but well appointed and clean. Bathroom had no window and a non functioning extractor, but otherwise satisfactory. We were in the stable block as are many of the rooms, the main hotel and restaurant were very nice with helpful staff and good food. The menu was... More

If you're looking for a rural country location this place should be considered. Our bedroom was overlooking unspoilt gorgeous opens fields. The pub was cosy we had a wonderful seat right in front of the large open, inglenook fireplace. The food to be honest was fabulous! Yes, if you are after huge, overwhelming portions this place is not for you.... More

Had been looking forward to the meal, but we were put in a the small cramped noisy room next to a hot radiator, so we asked to be moved. Menu is limited, only 4 starters, 4 mains and 4 sweets - no specials. Starters were very small portions. The wine bottle was not opened for us to taste, we also... More

When I travel I like to find interesting and nice local hotels instead of big, impersonal chains. This is absolutely one of the former not the later. I've stayed here multiple times and tried out 3 different rooms, they are all charming and unique. The restaurant - bar has excellent food and because the Dinton is small the staff gets... More

I bought this KGB deal sometime ago and should have been staying with my husband, but as he had died in January I brought my daughter instead. We had to share a bed as the hotel has no twins. We stayed for two nights in bedroom 5 which was beautiful and clean and had a view out over the fields,... More

Have just returned from an overnight stay at the Dinton Hermit. It is a picturesque building down a little lane in Buckinghamshire. The building appears to be ancient and in the bar the beams and roaring open fire plus a good supply of daily papers give it a cosy feel. There's plenty of car parking and guests have a choice...
