The rooms are warm and comfortable. Exceptionally clean. Have ironing board and iron, frig, bathrub with hot water , for a wonderful bath. The beds are very comfortable. It is quiet, and pet friendly. The managers are kind and very helpful. Their office is very nice and you are offered coffee and light breakfast. Can't say enough good things about... More

Went for an overnight mid week getaway. The motel was very clean, larger screen tv, mini fridge, table and 2 chairs. Furniture and bed were made by local Amish and added a nice touch. The bed was comfortable and the room had its own heat/air conditioning unit that was easy to regulate (it was a chilly, rainy day/night). We did not... More

I recently was travelling with two Newfoundland dogs and needed a place to stay that was pet friendly, had rooms with exterior doors AND had green space. Der Ruhe Blatz Motel seemed to be in the right location and fulfilled all the requirements. I was a bit wary because of the reviews, but it ended up being just right for me.... More

On our annual trek to Shipshewana, my family has stayed at Der Ruhe Blatz at least 5 times. After last year's bad experience with the non-English-speaking hotel managers, I was pleasant surprised to find some improvements. The lady at the front desk was more helpful and friendly. They had put more effort into both customer service and care of the... More

The Der Ruhe Blatz Motel was one of the cleanest rooms we have every stayed in. The breakfast area was small but the food was good. It was on the main rode so you were able to watch the horses and carts go by. I highly recommend this motel.

We had an enjoyable stay at your motel. The room was clean and cozy. We especially appreciated the fact that it was one level, no steps to climb! It was nice to be nearby the town and convention center. No long drive after the concert. We will definitely recommend you to others and will stay there again. Thanks. The Litten... More

We booked this hotel for 2 nights, 2 rooms for 4 and we're looking forward to our trip. Unfortunately, one of our party became sick and called to cancel just shy of the 48 hr deadline. They were willing to cancel one of the rooms for 2 nights. Then, when another of our party had to cancel (death of a family... More
