This is on the lot that used to house the old Drake Motel, which was a dump. They took it down and built a brand new building, which is now wonderful! Management was very friendly and had cookies at the front desk - yum!

My family of 6 stayed here Christmas week because my parents live on the south end of South Bend in the Gilmer Park area and we wanted to be close to them. We opted for 2 rooms which each had 2 queen beds and a pull-out couch. The beds were the fluffy, comfy kind that you sink into and have a great nights' sleep. Even the pull-out couch was comfy, although we did ask for extra sheets so we could put two bottom sheets and one top sheet on.

Our bathroom was roomy and had a nice granite counter. Towels were nice and fluffy. Shower had one of those curtains on a curved rod so you get more space when you're showering.
