I hate to throw stones at an otherwise well-reviewed hotel, but our stay here was just awful. We had a nice enough room but that was it. I stayed at the Blackhawk last year when there to visit family. Got a wonderful rate on one of their "lesser" rooms but it was still large and very nice. Clean, comfortable, and classy. Probably the best place to stay in all of Iowa. It is charming and comfortable. I have spent much time in Iowa for work and find myself coming here again and again. The other hotels or Inns tend to be more expensive and the rooms are depressing. This hotel is a true gem. more
