On the plus side: nice bedding, large comfortable rooms, clean and modern. On the negative side: 1) My room had been given to someone else. When I entered, it was already occupied. It took about 1/2 hour to sort this out and I didn't have 1/2 hour to spend sorting this out. 2) The pool is on the main level.... more

I've been staying here since the hotel opened as the Collins Plaza. It is even better now as a Marriott. My most recent stay was four nights in late June and I found the staff accommodating, the food very good (they even made me chicken broth and toast when I was feeling a bit under the weather), and late check... more

Usually stay here when in Cedar Rapids. Nice hotel. Clean and comfortable rooms. Not super plush or fancy. The bathtub needed some work and the TV is old-fashioned -- no flat screen HD. Was surprised the WiFi is $10 a day. Love the atrium and the free weekend buffet breakfast. And the kids love the glass elevators and the water... more

We just got back from our one night stay at the Marriott in CR. We were in from Chicago visiting friends. The hotel looks nice entering it, and the rooms looked decently clean, but paint was chipping on the bathroom ceiling and the noise due to the open floors was very much present in our room. There was a wedding... more

Our check-in experience was accomodating as we arrived at 9 AM and had a room by 10 AM - even though the hotel was booked the night prior. The food at this Marriot was delish - highly recommended is the egg white omelet with asparagus. The staff was friendly, but not flexible at all about a late check-out. (this is... more

My girlfriend and I spent two nights here at the end of August, 2008. It is quite a beautiful hotel, with the marble floors, glass elevators and atmosphere. There was some more construction being done in the main area, but that didn't impact our stay in any form. The pool was nice and the hot tub was actually a hot... more

I stayed at the Marriott for 2 nights in July for a wedding. On the plus side, they have done recent renovations. There is a nice waterfall in the attractive atrium. The wedding reception was in one of their spacious banquet rooms. They did a good job of organizing the reception. However, as far as their regular hotel services go,... more

I stayed here for a week during March 2007 for a business trip. I had a two room suite which was very clean and welcoming. I had no trouble checking in, and the front desk was helpful in asking questions. I had ordered room service a couple times and both times the meals were great and very filling, and delivered... more

Went with my dad to a family wedding. Stayed 5 nights. Lobby and staff are wonderful. Hotel has huge atrium and waterfall in the common area. Room was clean, toiletries from bath and body works. Restaurant was under construction, but had a temporary location. Breakfast buffet was awesome. Food was very nice. Drinks in the lounge were a little pricey.... more

I've been to the Marriott twice and it's quite nice, all recently renovated, beautiful atrium, attractive rooms, comfortable bed. We had a meeting there and the meeting rooms and catering were very good. There's a movie theater behind the hotel within a short walking distance if you feel like going to a movie and there's a nice park across the... more
