We were driving from Denver to Chicago, planned to go nonstop but a snowstorm hit eastern Iowa so we stopped here, needing only a place to sleep. Paid $45 for a queen room.
The room was weird. It had 2 doors, one facing the outside walkway and the other an inside corridor. The showerhead was so low that it was difficult to get my head under it, and I am only 5'9''. The heater worked well- too well in fact, as even the lowest setting had me getting up at night to turn it off, only to wake up cold a few hours later. The bed was not very comfortable, especially after having stayed at a Hilton the night before. Large room, decent TV, in room coffee but no condiments provided. Since we only had a few hours to go, we slept in and missed breakfast, so can't comment there.
Bottom line- It's cheap and acceptable. But I've also stayed at the Travelodge at the same freeway exit for only a few dollars more, and it was somewhat nicer. There is also a Red Roof Inn, and...
