My husband and I stayed at the hilton garden inn on the monday night of memorial day. I booked the stay and play package as the hotel is attached to the new Mystique Casino and is also attached to a Houlihans. The package was $144 which includes a $30 certificate for houlihans, $20 certificate for free play at the casino... more

This is a typical cookie cutter design, but they have a Houlihans which was decent and new. Room was big and clean (again, it was new). Restaurant serving breakfast in mornings - lot's of coffee. If I was there for business again, I'd stay. more

Stayed at the Hilton Garden for one night just to get away. The rooms were fine. The walls are a little thin, and the high ceilings in the first floor rooms make it sound like a gymnasium in the room, but all-in-all they are clean and nice. However, the front desk acted as if they were simply processing us like... more

The overall hotel is nice...room nicely decorated and clean (did the wet washcloth floor test)...bed comfy AND their vending machine charges $1.25 for 20oz drinks!! NICE!! There is a restaurant on property that is nice but a little pricey. There is also a casino on property...nice if you like casino's. The place has the usual amenities except free breakfast...they do... more

The facility is adjoining a greyhound race track and casino. While staying, there were no dogs but the casino was open and busy. For a small casino, it had a variety of table games and a poker room in addition to a large variety of slots. The hotel is new and is kept in immaculate condition. I was there for... more

My husband and I have been to this hotel a couple of times now. Pro's - not to far from suburbs of Chicago, a pleasant drive for a weekend getaway, things to do during the day, sightseeing and shopping in Dubuque and Galena, things to do at night.. dog track and Casino. We always have a great time. The hotel... more

I was reluctant to book based on the current reviews but in the end we ended up here at the Hilton for Memorial Weekend. We were so pleasantly surprised how nice the hotel was including the breakfast each morning. I do agree that the hotel has thin walls. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay. I also want to... more

Just returned from a weekend stay at the Hilton Garden Inn while in Dubuque for an event at the yacht basin across the street. I would not have reserved this hotel because of the negative reviews on this site, but was cajoled by another attendee to stay where everyone else in our group was staying. What a pleasant surprise! The... more

This new hotel is shoddily built with the cheapest of building materials. I have stayed in dorms nicer than this place. The cheap carpets in the stairways stunk. The walls in the rooms were paper-thin. We could hear every thing going on in the rooms around us (and I mean EVERY thing). Even though the beds were supposedly state-of-the-art, the... more

My Mom and I checked in on a Friday. We ordered a movie for $10.99,(yes$10.99) on the tv and 1/2 hour into it one of the hotel girls knocked on the door and said we have had 2 complaints and to hold it down! She treated us like we were party animals. And her attitude was awful. We were in... more
