We enjoyed our stay at the Hancock House during the middle of October very much. The owners, Chuck and Sue, made everyone feel very much at home and like family. This house is a lovely Victorian with period furniture & original wall paintings, woodwork, tile, etc. Add the view & you have a beautiful place to stay. The house is located on the bluff overlooking the city. The innkeepers are friendly & knowledgeable about the Dubuque area. At least once and year and often twice (if we can manage it) we hold a writers' retreat at The Hancock House in Dubuque. It's a wonderful place to just go and stay and relax. Our group of ten friends stayed in 6 of the 8 rooms at the Hancock House this past weekend. What a wonderful time! Chuck and Sue are incredibly friendly and helpful hosts.
