I stayed two nights at the Stauer House and found it pleasant and the owners were friendly and accomodating. Breakfasts were more than adequate and there is a huge selection of movies to play, if you feel like watching one of them.
The town is an old Mississippi River town with a great location. It is popular on the weekends and restaurant wait times can get long. The Pikes Peak State Park just two miles out of town is a hikers dream and is a gem. And there is no charge to enter the well-maintained park, with its superb views over the Mississippi, seen from many hiking trails
I would like to return and spend more time here. more
