A great time. Here are some tips. We just returned from a two night stay with 5 adults and six kids across three tents. We had a great time. I struggled to find useful information before we went, so here are some things that you might want to know. The site consists of three camping areas: the first field, the... More

On arrival we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful scenery - a nice open field surrounded by a bluebell filled wood. A nice warm welcome, friendly staff (apart from the rude, grumpy man we booked it with), little shop that was open until late and cafe. Unfortunately the good points end there. We struggled to find a flattish piece of... More

It was not all bad, the location and setting are very pretty and you can have real fires, wonderful to sit around on chilly evenings and there is plenty of space for children to play. Sadly, the bad things make a rather long list. This campsite consists of 2 fields and a woodland area. Camping in the woodland is encouraged.... More

Lovely little campsite but very overpriced, we paid £25 for the night plus £5 for wood this was for 2 people. I think this is very expensive for a spot to pitch a tent. It was a nice site and you could either pitch in the woods or on a field and have a campfire. I think perfect if you... More

I've stayed at Forgewood so many times - its just as perfect now as the first time! Yes its basic, but for me this is what makes it so perfect. If you want nice manicured pitches and a kids club you need to look elsewhere. If you want to relax in a gorgeous setting surounded by woods then this is... More

The camp site is basic, but it does what it says on the tin. BUT why don't the people who man the reception area take just a few moments to check the facilities which just need a mop up a few times a day and basic things like empying the paper hand towel bin. The washing up area is not... More

We have just spent a weekend here with a large group of several families. The location was stunning as we could camp next to some fantastic woods which proved to be 24hr entertainment for all the children in the group. This campsite seems to have suffered from too much good publicity too soon and not enough thought has been put... More

I spent 2 good days there recently with my girlfriend and friend. There are 2 main fields and the woods for you to choose from. I decided to go there due to the woods so I could use my hammock to camp with instead of a tent. Since it was such a beautiful weekend (of which we get so few... More

This campsite was perfect for a short break from London. We were lucky with the weather and because we stayed Sun-Fri it was not busy at all. We camped in the back field and made do without using the portaloos! These were not very clean, but you could camp nearer the main washing block if you can't do without a... More
