This was the dirtiest hotel I have ever experienced in my life. Unfortunately, by the time we got there, no other rooms were available in the entire town - so we were stuck. The first warning sign was the food and other miscellaneous trash that was lining the carpet on the way up the stairs. The room was falling apart,... more

1st room had hair shavings in the bathroom sink, cigarette ashes on the mattress, dried blood on the pillow case, dried "something" on the sheets, floors hadn't been vacumned in forever and the room stank heavily of cigarette smoke. 2nd room, right next door ,had been broken into and had no door latch and the towels in the bathroom had... more

We booked this motel stay through: www.choicehotels.com We stayed at this Econo Lodge in August of 2007- on our way from Denver to Kansas City. We were exhausted after driving about 5 hours at night. We were shocked and disgusted by the filth at this place. Like many other reviewers have stated before, I, too found hairs in the bathroom.... more

I booked the Econo Lodge by phone while on a trip across country. After an easy check-in, I retrieved my suitcase from the car and went into the "secure" card key door only to find it was broken and anyone could enter the hotel from this entrance. The car I parked next to was a very old, rusted compact with... more

oh my gosh, by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed in.. I never even would have stopped in hays if it wouldnt have been pouring rain at 1am. Anyway, there were 3 used band-aids on the floor of my bathroom, the tv had two 1/2 inch burns in the top of it. In the morning the Indian guy... more

We walked in at 1:30AM needing a place to stay for the night. We would have been more comfortable on a park bench in the parking lot. The Bathroom was filthy to include urine on the toilet seat, a filthy tub that appeared to have not been cleaned in months, hairs on the sink. The room was filthy and the... more

My family and I were driving back from Colorado and decided we had had enough of the road. We decided to stay in Hays. We picked the Econo Lodge due the the cheap price and the fact that it was late and we would have no time to get our moneys worth out of the Pool at a place with... more

OK, I've stayed in "No-Name" motels and the Paris in Vegas and just about everything in between. Choice Hotels, who I use whenever I can when I do travel, really needs to look at this one. IT WAS BAD! Top four complaints: 4. Several light bulbs burn out. 3. Some kind of scum build up in the bath tub. 2.... more

We arrived here at 9:00 p.m. after driving all day in the 100-degree heat with our two young kids. We had stayed here a couple years before and found it to be a decent budget motel, so we decided to stay here again. After arriving, we turned on the air conditioner immediately. After we unpacked and got settled in, we... more

My wife and I were traveling on I-70, and chose this hotel as a stop-over because it was the cheapest hotel we felt we could trust. We don't expect much from Econo Lodges, but we have never had a really bad experience with them. We arrived at midnight and left at 6:30 am. My wife refused to shower at the... more
