We came across the Beaver Dam Days Inn quite by accident. After a long, tiring Saturday we decided to extend our stay with a 2nd night in Owensboro, KY. Due to the baseball tournament in town, there was not a vacancy to be found in all of Owensboro. So we headed toward home, south on the William H Natcher Parkway (who? Originally called, quite logically, the Bowling Green - Owensboro, and later the Green River Parkway, before giving way to Kentucky politics). At the sole toll booth, near the northmost Beaver Dam exit. we asked about accomodations. The toll booth attendant gave us directions to this Days Inn set in the quiet grasslands of Western Kentucky. It was well worth driving the few miles in the "wrong" direction. The manager greeted us with a smile and gave excellent service that lasted until we left the parking lot the next afternoon.
