We spent two nights at the B&B at Silver Springs Farm and will never go back. Our first disappointment was its location. While the webpage makes it sounds as if it’s in the heart of Kentucky horse farm country, it’s nothing like the surrounding farms. It’s barely out of town and near lots of development and a correctional facility. A pasture held one quarter horse.

We naively assumed that any room that cost more than $360 for two nights (including taxes) would have a private bathroom. We were so taken aback when we realized that we had to share a bathroom that we seriously considered leaving. However, we would have had to forfeit our money, and it was basketball tournament weekend, so our options were extremely limited. We decided to try to make the best of it.

Our room had plenty of cobwebs and dust bunnies. It couldn’t be cleaned properly because it was too cluttered and even had a picture just propped up against the wall in the corner behind the TV... more
