Have a drink in the beautiful, historic lobby, but don't stay here. The carpet is threadbare, the wallpaper is peeling, the linens are very old. more

My husband and I just got married on October 24 at the Brown Hotel. We had the most exceptional woman we called our "head hancho" taking care of everything. She took care of everything from booking us all the way to becoming our new life-long friend. Her name is Jeri Stewart and she is fabulous. The ceremony room was perfect... more

We stayed at this hotel and it was very nice. Our room was a little bit small but the atmosphere was very nice. The closed and latched bathroom door kept opening during the night and another party in our group kept seeing their bathroom door knob handle turn by itself. I recommend this hotel even if it could give someone... more

My husband and I decided to take a weekend trip to Louisville, KY this past weekend. We have not been married long, and we have yet to take a get away trip, so we decided that treating ourselves to a nice hotel would be part of the trip. We looked online, and we found The Brown Hotel. We were put... more

Recently stayed at the Brown for 4 nights. This hotel is a complete disappointment...and what others have called charm and elegance is nothing more than a run down hotel in need of tremendous repair. While the public spaces (lobby, bar, restaurants) are very nice and elegantly appointed, the rooms are another story. With the exception of the bathroom - the... more

We chose this hotel based on other posative reviews, and were not disappointed. We had some concerns about the parking situation, but the adjacent garage is connected to the hotel by a walkway and very easy to use. We had a "luxury" room and were pleased with everything. The breakfast was excellent, although a little more expensive than one would... more

Would recommend to anyone, this is a great hotel, in a nice location. I could walk everywhere in downtown Louisville. As a rule of thumb I enjoy staying in hotels that match the personality of the city (rather than a chain although if you must stay in a chain then the marriot is the way to go). Anyhow back to... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at The Brown for the 2nd time recently. It was absolutely superb! Not only is the decor just beautiful with such attention to detail, but the service, particularly at The English Grill and in the Bar was outstanding. And the food...oh my goodness! The absolute best pork tenderloin we have EVER eaten! Just amazing! And... more

This is a great hotel, in a nice location. We could walk everywhere in downtown Louisville. I enjoy staying in hotels that match the personality of the location (rather than a chain) and The Brown fit perfectly. Very clean, large rooms. Lobby was nice. Loved the Derby quilts on the beds. The hallways smelled amazing....they must pump some scent through... more

The Brown is an historic hotel located in the heart of downtown Louisville, a few blocks from the always fun 3rd Street Live bars and restaurants. The service is always excellent and the rooms are very nice, albeit dated (but it is an historic hotel). Clean and comfortable. The exercise room is efficient and do not have any compliants. more
