We stayed here for a couple of nights as we were attending a wedding at the church opposite. The rooms are basic, but comfortable. For me though the best things were the pub and food. The restaurant has an extensive menu with lots of local market fresh ingredients cooked by a fantastic chef. Breakfast was equally as good and made... More

This place is an absolute gem. We decided to visit the blue boar, not only because it was central to all that was attending but because of the reviews. There was 15 of us in total and from the moment we walked in, we were made to feel very welcome. One of the party turned up half an hour late... More

We ate here in November. Food was really great, but I think it was the service that made it even more of an experience. The restaurant / pub has a lovely atmosphere from the moment you walk in (some pubs make you feel like you are walking into a local where everyone knows each other - not here). The lovely... More

Stayed for one night on a business trip. The owners and their staff were very friendly and had a warm welcome. Evening meal was superb. Home cooked food to a high standard. Beautiful old coach house building added to the experience. Rooms are more than adequate, quaint and well equipped. Breakfast in the morning was the full service. Fully recommend... More

Had lunch here several months ago and vowed I would stay next time...not disappointed!Very warm welcome and a "pub room"...not sumptuous but comfortable and warm on a cold and wet winters evening.Lovely soak in a full size bath and then down for a beer and dinner! All ingredients are locally sourced and the veg and new potatoes were succulent and... More

We were looking for a cozy place to stay with the family very last minute and found The Blue Boar Inn on laterooms.com. The family room was spacious, warm, comfy and cozy. The children loved the bunk beds as well as the hot chocolate and cookies that were on the welcome tray. We definitely recommend this inn as it is... More

Stayed here for one night in Sept. 2011 on our way to a friends anniversary. Reception was very welcoming and our room very comfortable, with Tv and tea making facilities, even a jar of chocolat chip cookies. A good selection of beers are available in the warm and cosy bar. We were joined by friends for dinner which turned out... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Blue Boar Inn is a coaching inn dating from 1685. Bought in 2008 by us, James and Melinda, this listed building has been lovingly restored. The bar has a beamed ceiling and an inglenook fireplace which has a roaring fire on colder days. In the summer you can relax in the beer garden and hopefully enjoy the sunshine! The garden is fully enclosed and has swings & toys for the children. The restaurant can seat up to 50 diners and can be booked for parties and functions. Our food is locally sourced as much as possible, with our pork produced next door at "Perfick Pork", beef from Binham, crabs and mussels (when in season) from Brancaster to mention but a few! James is the chef and has worked at many well know restaurants in Norfolk as well as working in Australia, New Zealand and Bermuda. We have five en-suite bedrooms, and these have been tastefully and comfortably decorated, each with tea / coffee making facilities, free wifi, hairdryer and colour TV. Our aim is to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible, so if there is anything we may have overlooked, please do not hesitate to ask, we will do our very best to accommodate you. ... more   less
