This is a plain hotel, nothing special about it. It is located near cave run lake so its a close place to go if your camping trip gets rained out or you have business at the college in Morehead. We have stayed at this hotel 3 times in 3 years and have been very pleased each time. (My husband likes to stay in 4-5 star hotels so the bar is set high and this hotel measures up nicely for its category and price.) Have you noticed how our expectations are being LOWERED on our behalves these days? The grades on meat and eggs have moved down. What used to be just "select" beef is now called "choice". They don't package "small" eggs anymore... they just call them "medium" instead. The king-sized candy bar is... well... The same is happening with the shrinking hotel... more

Great motel. Comfortable beds. Clean Hotel. Friendly staff. We booked this motel, because it was the only one in the area that had 2 queen beds. All the others ones in the area only had 1 king or two twin beds. It was a wonderful experience. Will stay there again. The only complaint is.......nothing in walking distance except a gas... more

Staying here was a treat. We came because it was recommended by the Poppy Mountain Bluegrass Festival and they were right. The bathroom was big and my wheelchair easily went in and BONUS ...
