We were road weary (ages 15, 48, 50, 77)...Left Bloomington, IN about 9 PM en route to Kinston, NC. Plan was to drive about 3 hrs, then get a good night's sleep and hit the road again! We figured...just a place to sleep, shower, and go.
Manager was very nice. Room and beds were nice-sized. Came in, through back bed linens, ready to hit the hay...
Sheets and pillow cases were read-through thin, but looked clean.
And then,...
Mirror frame, wall-attached headboard, sides of nightstand were mildewed! Spider webs and, yes, spiders were abundant! Bathroom ceiling was terribly mildewed!
We had seen enough! Packed up, told manager we were leaving b/c of mildewy, spidery room, not to charge our card, and were on the road again. He was very pleasant.
Have tried to contact corporate Best Value Inn twice by e-mail, w/ no response. Their website doesn't even acknowledge a Best Value Inn in Winchester, KY. Last e-mail requested response in 24 hrs or BBB of KY will... more

I stayed two nights at this hotel and was not impressed. You get what you pay for...and less.

PROS:
- price isn't bad. Looked like several just-driving-through travelers knew about this place. Arrive late, gone in the morning.
- rooms fairly clean and average size (HBO and many other channels on the tv)
- for snacks you can walk 50 feet to the Holiday Inn next and use their machines. (See CONS below)
- laundry room
- walk about 20 minutes to restaurants and movie theater.

CONS
- mattress, while not the worst I've had, were older and definitely had "body scoops/grooves" in them.
- towels were some of the thinnest I've seen (and with old 'clean' stains)
- showerhead was fair
- Continental breakfast was fair, as compared with other Continental breakfasts I've had in the last year. There were even little flies (!) in the orange juice container and in the day-old Krispy Kreme donut box.
