I stayed here for three nights in late January when I participated in a French studies graduate conference at LSU. A number of conference participants also stayed at the hotel. The proximity to campus was wonderful, as was access to the bars/restaurants at North Gate. I also ran along the lake for several mornings. The breakfast served each morning was... more

My daughter and I stayed here when she was invited to participate in Spring Testing. Unfortunately, a group of 4H students from Canada was also staying at the hotel and on our floor. The Canadians were making the most of their stay in La., and partied ALL night. I made several distress calls to the front desk at hour intervals--the... more

Spent one night in a deluxe suite with husband and son for an event on campus. This hotel is absolutely wonderful. It is relatively new so everything is clean and fresh. The decor is unabashedly all LSU purple and gold. The suite was very large with a small kitchen with two burner cooktop, dishwasher, refrigerator and enough dishes to get... more

This is an interesting and very nice hotel located on the shoreline of one of the University Lakes. It is relatively new and is pretty much an oddity amidst the sorority and fraternity houses on the row. Despite its decor of all things LSU, the rest of the hotel is patterned after a really nice Hampton Inn. The rooms are... more

We (2 adults 2 kids) spent two nights at the Cook hotel in a king suite. The room was very nice and the hotel was very attractive and well maintained. The room had a private bedroom with a king bed and a sleeper sofa in the living area. It had a nice complete kitchen. A full breakfast buffet is included... more

When I checked in, the young woman gave me no directions to give me an idea of where my room was located. Then there was no one to help me with my luggage. After struggling to bring in all my luggage alone, I lugged it all past the front desk and down a hall to an elevator that didn't work.... more

Since I'm always doing research at various university libraries, I'm always looking for a hotel situated close to campus. The Cook Conference Center was perfect in this regard-a comfortable walk (even carrying a laptop in a backpack) to the Special Collections Library at LSU. The facility was also very nice and clean, with efficient and friendly staff. I had heard... more

Stayed here on my first trip to Baton Rouge. Didn't like it one bit. In fact, one my next (and subsequent) trips to Baton Rouge, I stay at the Richmond Suites... Lod Cook gave the impression that they were not only a new hotel, but also a poorly run hotel. My room wasn't ready at 4:30 when I arrived, I... more

Baton Rouge is not a great hotel town. Mostly, your options are chain hotels along bleak stretches of highways or access roads. The Cook Center is an exception since its on the campus of Louisiana State University. Its a little hard to find but its near a very pretty lake and there are lots of opportunities for pleasant strolls around... more
