Greatest thing: excellent coffee in bed, in china demitasse. Beautiful house and grounds. Terrific breakfast, and very nice tour of the house after the breakfast. I especially appreciated the kindness of the owner: I realized I had forgotten my leather jacket and the owner returned it immediately and charged only for actual usps shipping, no service charge, although I volunteered.... more

When entering "The Cottage" an overwhelming smell of smoke and mold permeated the air. The hostess was nice, but not overly friendly. She told me I could look around while my husband checked us in. I took a quick look in the dining room and the room to the left of the dining room. They were both cluttered with flea... more

My husband and I and another couple stayed at the Cottage for three nights. We were there because of my sons wedding in Baton Rouge. We felt very comfortable there and with the brief few minutes between wedding lunches and dinners, we had a chance to unwind on Mary's back porch sometimes alone with our thoughts and sometimes enjoying Mary's... more

I stayed in this B&B for one night in the middle of August, and enjoyed my stay very much. Highlights include: walking/running along the road through lush forest around their property with the owners' dog. She will follow you anywhere you go. Watching approaching thunderstorm on porch, again accompanied by new friends, dog and cat. (they love people). Visiting the... more

We happened upon this historic plantation by sighting a little blue sign on the side of the Highway. We decided to stop and tour the property. The path off the highway leads you about a mile and a half into the forest and you actually feel as if you are stepping back in time. Your car then crosses over a... more

I enjoyed my stay at The Cottage Plantation. It is an earlier plantation and does not have the opulence of a plantation costing $200-$400 per night, but then it doesn't cost anywhere near that. And I would much rather stay here than pay $75 more a night to go to the Myrtles. If watching TV is important to you, you... more

We stayed at the Cottage Plantation on December 29, 2007. We had just stayed at Myrtles Plantation the night before and were nervous wrecks by morning due to ghost activity (see review). We found this property to be peaceful, interesting, and clean. We had no mold or bug problems in our room (perhaps due to time of year). Yes, some... more

First, let me say that we could not actually bring ourselves to spend the night here. I had made reservations a couple months in advance: my husband and I were to stay in one room and my parents were to stay in an adjoining room with two beds. We planned to make a fun weekend out of staying here and... more

The Cottage Plantation is just lovely. My son and I travelled to the area to see some of the plantation homes . We were thrilled to be able to stay at a plantation that dates back to the 1790's. The home is so picturesque and in a beautiful pastoral area. We stayed only one night but wished it could have... more

We stayed here for one night over Memorial Day Weekend. This was the first time we had ever stayed at a bed and breakfast so we really didn't know what to expect. It was very nice and quiet. The television was only about a 12'' and we could only catch CBS but that was allright. The only problem I found... more
