In searching for an affordable location for a plantation wedding I came across so much more. My now husband and I were immediately taken by the history of Butler Greenwood. We spent a weekend in March at one of the B&B cottages on the property and couldn't wait for the ceremony in June, which was lovely and held on the... more

If you are looking for relaxation then Butler Greenwood and St. Francisville is your destination. A beautiful old home from the 1790's greets you upon entering and the tour was conducted by a direct descendant of the original Butler family that build the home. A spartan continental breakfast is available, but not something that you would "spring" out of bed... more

I've stayed at Butler Greenwood twice, both times in the Old Kitchen. I can confidently say that this is one of my favorite places away from home in the world - and I travel about one week out of four. If you're the sort that wants brand new everything all the time, damned be to the finer things in life,... more

This bed and breakfast is not your typical B&B. There are several cottages located on the plantation grounds in which to choose from. We stayed in the Pond House. Our cottage was cozy. The king sized bed was comfortable and the jacuzzi is large enough for 2. The atmosphere here is rustic, not at all lavish as the pictures on... more

I stayed at the Butler Greenwood in May 2008 with my boyfriend. We received a gift certificate to stay there from family, which was ideal for a nice weekend away. I live in New Orleans, and it's approximately 1 1/2 hours away from town. We stayed in the Old Kitchen, which is certainly the most historic of all the cottages,... more

We stayed at Butler Greenwood Plantation on December 30, 2007. We had just stayed at Myrtles Plantation and Cottage Plantations. We were wrecks after leaving Myrtles because of all the ghost activity (see our review). At Cottage Plantation, we enjoyed the peaceful environment and Bess, the dog. At Butler Greenwood, we checked in and then went on a bayou boat... more

I stayed overnight with my family in the Old Kitchen pavillon. The family loved it for its touch of authenticity and the charm of a 18th century house. Decoration is nice but somewhat old. If you are after a four star comfort, you will not find it - but if you are looking for a place that feels like an... more

My husband and I have just returned from spending our 17th wedding anniversary at the Butler Greenwood Plantation Bed & Breakfast. The grounds are absolutely stunning. We stayed in the Pond House which was adorable and totally romantic. We enjoyed the Jacuzzi tub....it was huge! St. Francisville is a very charming little town. Very quiet and relaxing with not a... more

This is hard place to describe, seeing as there are both good and bad points to your stay here. The grounds are breathtaking and having the freedom to roam around them is a real treasure. I highly recommend a trip around the place just to take in the massive trees, small animals and other vegetation. That was the highlight of... more

We just returned from a much needed "get out of town" trip. We found/booked Butler Greenwood on the web. Web description accurately describes the place as quiet, peaceful and quaint. It was all those things. The website does not detail the filthy cottage (TreeHouse), the unkempt pool area or the overall attitude of malaise that seems to infect the place.... more
