We found Boathouse Way Cottages on-line while looking into places to stay on Mount Desert Island, Maine. The main goal was to have a nice, quiet, comfortable, clean place to come "home" to after a day of sightseeing in the “Acadia National Park”. We hit the jack pot when we decided to stay here! The cottage was wonderful with all the amenities you could ever dream of needing, truly a home away from home. The cottages were built in 2004 and are nicely spaced on a sprawling wooded property. The cottages have wood decked front porches with wicker furniture, gas grilles, fire pits, and picnic benches. The interiors have hardwood floor, natural wood paneled walls, cathedral ceilings, and gas fire places. The cottage we stayed in was the “Boathouse”. It was nicely sized with two queen size bedrooms, two closets, full bathroom with a stacked washer and dryer, full kitchen, and a combined living and dining room area.
