Great historical public space. Kind of like paying to sleep in a museum. But, things seemed more cared for than people staying there. Staff more like curators--not hotel professionals. Even the breakfest felt stuffy--more interesting to say than eat. Room was fine but inconsistant attention to detail in furnishings and fixtures. Bottom line, not a great value for the money... more

Spectacular castle setting. We stayed in the Balmoral Room which has a beautiful view of the bay and was a nice sized room. The grounds were in excellent condition. This property is certainly unique. The building's fanciful and distinctive architecture provides the feeling that you are having an "experience." Located near the center of Camden, Norumbega is a large, clean B&B with wonderful views of Penobscot Bay (our view from The Balmoral room took our breath away) .
