My husband and I stayed in this hotel last October. We were travelling through Vermont and Maine. The Norembega was the most expensive hotel we booked but we were so excited by the look, history and reviews on this website. Well, we arrived and were very dissapointed. Our hotel room had an amazing view but that was all it had.... more

Although we only stayed one night as we made our way up the coast, the accommodations were incredibly warm and inviting. I highly recommend the Library Suite! The breakfast of ginger pancakes, muffins and granola was delicious, and chocolate chip cookies were always available. more

We stayed at the Norumbega in late February. The Inn is beautiful and the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. Breakfasts were great with pumpkin muffins, egg custard, gingerbread pancakes, and homemade granola. The views of Penobscot Bay from the Inn were wonderful, and it was easy for us to getto attractions such as Camden Hills State Park and the Camden... more

I am very disappointed in my experience with the Norumbega. Based on the reviews here it seemed like a bit of a risk - charming but in need of work. However, Camden is the perfect stopover for my fiancee and I on our honeymoon en route to the Canadian Maritimes. So, with a leap of faith, I made a reservation... more

The Norumbega Inn was perfect for a weekend getaway. The rooms were cozy and the atmosphere was ideal for relaxing. It is a short walk (~10-15 minutes) into the town of Camden which is something to keep in mind if location is a determining factor. With that said, we enjoyed every minute of our stay at the B&B. Greg &... more

I just spent the weekend at the Norumbega and have a few thoughts for other Camden-bound travelers considering staying there. The building itself is quite impressive and has a lovely view of Camden Harbor. The staff was very nice and the breakfasts were excellent. Our room however, was very expensive for what we got and very much outdated. The king-size... more

Great historical public space. Kind of like paying to sleep in a museum. But, things seemed more cared for than people staying there. Staff more like curators--not hotel professionals. Even the breakfest felt stuffy--more interesting to say than eat. Room was fine but inconsistant attention to detail in furnishings and fixtures. Bottom line, not a great value for the money... more

Spectacular castle setting. We stayed in the Balmoral Room which has a beautiful view of the bay and was a nice sized room. The grounds were in excellent condition. Breakfast was okay...not the best and not the worst. The cookies were great as was the afternoon snack. Cindy was wonderful. Camden was the most beautiful setting that you could ever... more

This property is certainly unique. The building's fanciful and distinctive architecture provides the feeling that you are having an "experience." Located near the center of Camden, Norumbega is a large, clean B&B with wonderful views of Penobscot Bay (our view from The Balmoral room took our breath away) . I wouldn't characterize the setting as particularly intimate though. There were... more

My wife and I recently returned from our honeymoon after being married in the Norumbega Inn in Camden ME., and we have not stopped raving about it to our friends and family. After having done much online research for a location to have our intimate winter wedding ceremony, we came across the Norumbega Inn, and even the pictures intrigued us.... more
