We booked last minute, and the Elms Inn was one of the few b&b's near town that had availability at reasonable rates ($130 for a small room for 2 ppl). I hadn't heard much about this b&b and after reading the prior review, was really apprehensive. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. The inn is just wonderful, and our room was adorable (looks like it might have been refurbished recently). Esther was so welcoming that it really felt cozy and homey, right down to the cookies left in the kitchenette at night! I heard NO traffice, so I'm a little perplexed by the prior poster. Not sure if this was b/c we were on a high floor, but it still seemed quiet all throughout the inn. The breakfast was soooo good: tasty and creative, but still hearty, healthy and hit the spot! (some b&b's get too creative to the point that it's not appetizing. Most people still appreciate home cooked eggs and pancakes!).
So, it's a great find...I recommend it highly and a great price to boot.

I must admit my wife and I did not actually end up staying through the night during our visit to the Elms. Based on their web page wich is apparently well out of date(Still) we were looking forward to our stay in this supposedly Lighthouse themed BB. What we discovered upon arrival was that the previous owners had recently sold the Inn, moved out, and taken the Lighthouse memorabilia with them (Which was the main attraction). My wife and I in an attempt to be fair decided we would give it a chance but were really discouraged when we realized that everytime a truck or large vehicle drove by on busy route 1 (directly in front of the house) the whole house shook-so much for a restfull retreat. We decided at that point to forefit our deposit and found nicer lodging closer to town (luckyily we were there after Labor day).
I have to say that the InnKeeper really worked hard to make us happy but the location and lack of ammenited really spoiled it for us.
