The Castine Inn is a lovely old inn, ideally located to explore Castine - a not-to-be-missed town on the Maine coast. Our room had a view of the water, was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The staff were all very cordial and we appreciated their willingness to talk with us about the Maritime Academy and the town, expecially helpful since... more
We stayed overnight. The room was reasonably priced, the service was excellent. The desk manager helped us find a good spot to eat - an unexpected bonus was two local guitarists who played at the restaurant.Breakfast at the hotel was excellent. Castine is a small but interesting town. The Maritime Academy is there so there is a college sophistication and... more
My wife and I traveled to the Castine Inn on our way to Acadia National Park. I had read about this Inn in a photography article. The article spoke of the places along the Maine coast that are a must to visit. Obviously the Castine Inn was highly recommended. My wife and I spent $125.00 on the room. The morning... more
The Castine Inn should be a National Treasure. The Inn brought back my childhood memories of coastal Maine in the 40's and 50's. The service was wonderful as was all of the staff.I will be going back for the next few years for sure. more
After reading about The Castine Inn in the Salt Lake Tribune, we decided to stay there during our recent trip to coastal Maine. It was everything that was promised and more -- wonderful staff, lovely rooms, fabulous breakfast. Anyone looking to get away from the touristy stuff in Maine should plan to stay in Castine at least a night or... more
The Castine Inn was very accommodating to us! They made it possible for us to stay at the bed and breakfast even though we were going to be arriving very late in the night. The rooms were comfortable, and the breakfast was both delicious and priced well. more

We booked because we liked the idea of the restaurant on site, h'owever eventhough we were there fri and sat night no rest. opened. rarely was anyone at desk. We had to sneak into kitchen to get glasses, water, coffee cups. Furniture very... more
Charming, great rooms, clean, great value, superb breakfasts (only meal we had at inn), extremely friendly and helpful staff. The owner Tom is a great guy. The Inn has a lot of history and a beautiful garden. The breakfast is by far the best in Maine! Comfortable rooms and common areas. 100 feet from main corner of town. This is... more
I found this hotel and town in a book by National Geographic called "Small Town Escapes" and it was exactly what we were looking for. There was no thru traffic so the roads were very quiet and peaceful. Our first night we were on the second floor knowing ahead of time that we would be moved to the 3rd floor.... more
