It was while enjoying a glass of wine on the front porch of the Castine Inn that my girlfriend and I - both in our early 60s - decided to get married. So we will always have fond memories of the inn. That aside, it was a wonderful place that I would highly recommend. Innkeeper Tom Gutow was friendly and... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Castine Inn. The owner, Tom Gutow, and his staff were warm and welcoming. Tom is an excellent chef and makes a wholesome, delicious breakfast every morning. The Inn has a game room which our kids enjoyed and a pretty front porch and parlor inside. Great location, right in the center of a very... more

Castine is quite breathtakingly lovely and wonderfully "un-touristy" and The Castine Inn is the place to stay when you are in the area. The sunny yellow inn sits among gorgeous colonial homes on the quiet Main Street overlooking the harbor. Owner and brilliant chef Tom Gutow makes the best breakfast in the world: cups of layered fresh fruits; cranberry scones... more

From the moment we were greeted by the Owner at check-in, our entire experience was welcoming and homey. Our suite had a sitting room, water-view and was bright and airy. The Continental Breakfast was delicious and the dining room beautiful with painted murals of Castine. Castine is a beautiful New England town and The Castine Inn a perfect place to... more

We enjoyed 4 nights at The Castine Inn in Castine, Maine. The suite we stayed in was simple, but was comfortable and homey and accommodated our family of 4 nicely. It was a great place to come "home" to after a day of kayaking or exploring the Maine coast. Great breakfast - missing the homemade scones already. Enjoyed the porch... more

My friend and I booked a suite at an incredibly reasonable $165.00 per night, and we loved everything about it. The Inn is lovely, our room was spacious with wonderful views of the town and the harbor, the Gutows are wonderful hosts, and the scones in the morning are indescribably good. Couldn't ask for a more wonderful few days! more

We enjoyed our stay at Castine Inn very much. It is a charming little hotel in Castine/Maine. The service (starting with the reservation) is most friendly and helpful. The rooms are small, but very convinient, decorated differentlyand have a nice view. Maybe some of the bathrooms need a little renovating (that's why we didn't give 5 points for the overall... more

A pretty Maine harbor just a 2 minute walk from the Inn. Castine is the location of the Maine Maritime Academy which adds interest to the already scenic town. Several good modestly priced restaurants, one on the water. A great place to experience beautiful, quiet Maine at its best. more

Location is wonderful, the breakfast scones are among the best I've ever had, served warm with great strawberry jam. Refined but relaxed with gracious hosts- a great place to stay in a beautiful setting. more
