My husband and I just spent 4 days here and were very pleased. The rooms are huge and the furniture is dated like in the days of the old manors. Great mattresses, pillows and down comforters or just a blanket if that's what you want. Bathrooms have been modernized though which is nice. The owners, Tom and Nancy, are very... more

We stayed for 4 days for a wedding. The hotel was once a summer house of a private individual. Enormous comfortable old fashioned rooms with fabulous beds (I slept brilliantly, unusally for me) overlooking in the distance bays and inlets all edged with pine trees. and interspersed with islands. Beautiful on a moon lit night. Small but adequate bathrooms, lots... more

We were lucky enough to stumble on to the Manor Inn. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The restaurant and bar provided excellent food and service. As a special treat, we were able to spend some time with the innkeepers who are delightful and eager to please. Additionally, we were traveling with two large dogs and they could not have... more

Inn smells like the cat shelter. No AC in room. Bad service at it's restaurant , poor menu, small portions. Rude owner who takes a liberty of charging your credit card towards generous tips for his staff at the check out ! Avoid this place, not worth the aggravation. more

We stayed at the Manor Inn for one night in the Fort George room. It is indeed beautiful from the outside, and nicely situated in this gorgeous town. The first impression upon walking in is also good. The front desk staff was very attentive and friendly. However, as we spent more time there, we noticed lots of telltale signs of... more

We booked here after finding other properties full the day of arrival. It is a large house on a large piece of land overlooking the bay. The reception was friendly. We got a large third floor bedroom with beautiful views and twin beds. It was a clean and quiet room, with small private bath. The small pub was nice and... more

Wonderful B&B. We stayed there for about five nights in July 2006 and had a wondferful time. Their breakfast is great. Nancy even makes her own granola. The pub is quaint but the best part is being just outside of town in the pine woods. It night it is dark, cool and with a gentle breeze. We stayed in huge... more

The Manor Inn is slightly off the beaten path in the great village of Castine. That is a plus if you enjoy nothing but the sounds of the buoys drifting up from the harbor at night. This is Down East Maine and the atmosphere is definitely laid back and casual. The rooms are clean but have that lived in feel.... more

My husband and I love older inns that have charm and character. Driving up to the manor we were very excited as it is quite beautiful on the outside. Once inside though we felt let down. The place is more shaby than old, not very clean and the banister railing going up to the third floor is loose. If your... more

We stayed at the Manor Inn for a weekend in August when it was about 80 degress out - not too hot. But the Eggemoggin Room was horribly stuffy - the main windows don't open and there is only 1 small window in the bathroom. There is a fan that also works as an A/C, but it was very loud/broken... more
