“A touch of England brought to Maine” courtesy of your English host & southern hostess, Mark & Tina Stephens. A romantic, friendly, incredibly comfortable National Register bed and breakfast located in Dexter, Maine which is just 15 minutes off I95 and 45 minute drive to the Maine coastline, Bangor and the beautiful, scenic Moosehead Lake and Mount Katahdin region of Maine. My knowledge of the area and things to do and see is excellent. Whether you want to go moose watching, white water rafting, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, fishing, wildlife watching, snowmobiling, ATV’s, ski-ing, apple picking, antiquing, whatever you want to do, just tell me and I will know the best places to be, things to see and the right people to contact. It’s all about giving my guests the best experience possible in my part of Maine. Stay for a night or maybe a few nights, unpack, treat the Brewster Inn like home, come and go as you please and have a great time. Room prices inc breakfast, Wi-Fi, really comfortable beds, flat panel TV’s. Each guestroom has its own bathroom; some guestrooms have a fridge, microwave or fireplace. The Honeymoon Suite has a large 2 person whirlpool. The Brewster Inn is a former Maine Governor and US Senator's family home and it’s a great place to stay. Have a read of the reviews to see what other guests say. I always try incredibly hard to give every guest that walks through my door, the best stay ever

I wanted to share my lovely experience staying at the Brewster Inn. I decided to take the trip up to Maine to see the infrequent winter visitor, the Northern Hawk Owl. I was fortunate enough to see him before nightfall. I then called the Brewster Inn to see if they had any availability for the night (yes, it was last minute) and they did. Mark was so nice and helpful on the phone and had a room ready for me in the hour. I arrived and both him and Tina were welcoming and warm. The room was clean, had a fridge and flatscreen TV with all the channels and all was lovely, particularly the whirlpool bath. The next morning breakfast was served and was delish, particularly the strawberry bread. They even helped me get my car out of the ice and Mark literally pushed my car so I could head back out to see the owl one more time before heading back to MA. I would recommend The Brewster Inn to my friends and family (I actually already have) and hopefully will have another opportunity to stay again in the future. They are such lovely and good hearted people.

The Inn a beautifully preserved old house. We were in town work and left before daybreak every day, so we did not get chance to enjoy some of the common areas or try their breakfast. But the room was clean, incredibly spacious, the beds comfortable, and the hosts very gracious. We look forward to coming back the next time we are in town.

We were in Dexter for a wedding and were delighted to find the Brewster Inn. Our innkeepers, Mark and Tina, were lovely hosts. The charming room was a great size for our party of 4. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, making sure that we had everything we needed. We talked about the history of the property and all the work they have done (and are still doing) to restore it. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, Tina was kind enough to share her recipe for the Ham and Cheese strata. We will definitely stay again if we are ever in the vicinity.

We have always admired the Brewster Inn when we visited our relatives in Dexter. We recently lost our uncle and returned for his funeral. This was our first time staying at a B&B and what a treat it was! Mark and Tina were wonderful hosts. The Inn is beautiful, you can tell they have put many hours of love into the Inn to bring it to its original grandeur. The breakfasts were yummy, they are talented cooks. We will leave you guessing on what they serve so you have to visit to find out. We rented the game room and it didn’t disappoint. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room spotless, and the linens high quality. Whether you are a first time B&Ber or frequently stay at one, this is a must! Maine has a lot to offer and this is a perfect place to stay while you explore. Thank you Mark & Tina for the memorable experience.

This is real special, a gem of a B&B! Great old mansion with an outstanding guess list. Governor and president are on the list! A true New England place with great host and best breakfast we have had as a B&B! We stayed in the honeymoon room, the best room in our opinion with a great hot tub in the room with all things you need to have great stays. This was not our first or last time to stay with Mark and Tina! John and Crystal

We booked a 2 night stay at the Brewster Inn as we finished moving out of our home in Dexter. From multiple past visits, we knew this historic Inn well-- it's lovely atmosphere, it's beautifully decorated interior, it's cleanliness , and most importantly its friendly owners- -Tina and Mark Stephens. They were very accommodating to our crazy schedule as we removed the last items from our home. We stayed in the honeymoon suite. It was tastefully decorated, spacious, comfortable, and quiet. Coffee and tea were available in the room as well as a bubble hot tub (which we didn't try) and a separate reading room. The homemade hot breakfasts were excellent and always included a fresh fruit mixture (home made, not out of a can) , a variety of pastries, and unlimited good coffee. We would encourage anyone visiting central Maine to consider staying at this lovely historic Inn. Rich & Martha Pfirman Dexter, Maine

We visited The Brewster Inn with 2 other couples in October. We had planned our weeklong trip to Maine in the hope of enjoying the fall colors and were not disappointed. In finding the ideal place to stay, after some internet research, we found the Brewster Inn and the terrific reviews encouraged a call to the innkeepers, Mark and Tina Stephens. From the first call, we knew we had found the right place to stay. Speaking with Mark and describing the kinds of experiences our over-70 aged group wanted to have, Mark shared a number of wonderful ideas that really got us excited about visiting Maine. We booked right away! From the first time we turned into the drive the hospitality was evident. From the warm greeting to learning the details of how this B&B operated we were all totally comfortable. We were escorted to our rooms and shown how everything in our suites worked. My wife and I had booked the Honeymoon Suite and despite having been married for over 50 years, this suite felt special. Another of our couples booked into the Game Room and the third couple booked the Hatherley. We all were quite happy with the accommodations. The rooms were spacious and furnished with wonderful period furniture and décor. Breakfast each morning alternated between sweet and savory casseroles, complimented with fresh fruit, juice and an assortment of breads and muffins. The coffee, one of Mark’s proud duties, was a terrific way to start our days. Each morning, Mark and Tina would ask about our plans for the day and offer some options for things we might see along our route. We visited almost all of the places they suggested and were never disappointed. Be sure to visit Moosehead Lake, consider a moose adventure, take pictures of the nearby covered bridge and just enjoy the friendly people in the small towns and villages that are in this part of Maine – and of course, have plenty of lobster and lobster rolls! At the end of our week, we felt like we were saying goodbye to friends, not just innkeepers! We would happily visit the Brewster Inn when we make another pilgrimage to Maine.

A wonderful 7 night stay at The Brewster Inn. The hotel is in an elegant Colonial building and the rooms are large, comfortable and well appointed and furnished. It is also extremely good value particularly at this time of year when other hotels raise their rates significantly. Mark and Tina ,the owners, welcome guests warmly and are helpful ,friendly hosts. They provide a home ccoked hot breakfast as well as a buffet of cold selections. They are able to provide an enormous amount of knowledge and guidance on local areas of interest in the State of Maine. If we are ever lucky enough to return to this area we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

We rented 2 rooms for the weekend of 9/23/23 - our daughter’s wedding day. The Game Room, for us, was quiet, comfortable and roomy. The other room was for my parents on the ground floor for convenience, was also a quiet, comfortable room. The Inn was well-appointed. Breakfast was delightful. The hosts were welcoming and informative. We would gladly return to The Brewster Inn.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Brewster Inn in Aug '23 when I visited Maine for the first time. I was looking for a true B&B experience where I could enjoy some local atmosphere in a warm and welcoming environment. I found it at the Brewster Inn. Mark and Tina were great hosts - very friendly and knowledgeable. Mark showed me where I could find several local attractions and spots of interest I likely wouldn't have found on my own. The entire place is very clean and tastefully decorated with many photos and artifacts describing the building's interesting past. The back patio was a relaxing place to read and relax. Mark showed me where I could find fine examples of covered bridges, a section of highway with dozens of craft birdhouses hanging on the wall, and a fantastic unstaffed cheesecake restaurant (Momo's) that operates on the honor system. The welcome drink when checking in was the perfect way to start my stay after my flight into Bangor. (The drinks menu includes a couple of local craft beers definitely worth trying!) The breakfast featured delicious homemade pastries and stuffed French Toast. My room was very spacious and nicely decorated, without being overly fancy.
