Just wanted to add another positive review of the Maine Idyll. It's very clean and simple, but perfectly adequate for a one- or two-night stay. There's something very sweet about it, and if you went to summer camp in the northeast, the scent of the cabins may bring you back down memory lane. Highly recommended. more

We booked a cottage (# 9), based entirely on the reviews on TripAdvisor, and were not disappointed in any way. It was just as described - clean, fun, cozy, and met all of our needs. I stumbled across this gem about 12 years ago. My friend and I come every year to Freeport for shopping and an overnight trip and would not stay anywhere else. Each cabin has it's own charm.
