This was the first visit to Maine and The Moorings inn was perfect place to stay. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. It was quiet and relaxing! We are going back this June, already have the reservations in place. We highly recommended The Moorings inn!!! It was so nice to be on the quiet side of the Island and... More

We spent 4 days in the lovely front apartment of LookOut Cottage. The views are tranquil, the rooms were charmingly decorated and the manager was very friendly and helpful. We did most of our cooking in an excellent kitchen, read by a working fire and hiked the trails in the national park. We also received a tour of the Inn... More

My family and I (two adults, one 9 year old child) spent three nights in the Starboard room of the Mansell Cottage. While the views were lovely, the setting tranquil (when the ship yard closed down) and was one of the lower cost options available, it was still not enough for us to return, and here is why. Service: Our... More

We are very focused on communicating the unique qualities of our inn. Upon being welcomed we also make sure if you need anything to let us know. This does include an upgrade in accommodations based on availability. Every room, suite, & cottage is uniquely different from another. We would have happily put new pillows in your cottage suite, & provided... More

We stayed at Moorings Inn for 5 days and the location was ideal. It was very peaceful yet surrounded by wonderful views of Southwest Harbor. We had a kitchenett so we could eat in or out. Conveniently located near a wonderful small town with shops and great places to eat. The staff was so kind and helpful.

I almost don't want to write a review, as I don't want other people to come here! But that's not fair. This is a great place to stay. Great views of the bay. Lovely helpful main staff. Place has a lot of character. if you wnat modern, its not for you. if you want a friendly quiet place, it is.

We chose the Moorings based on its location, and we're not disappointed in the least. It is next to a working boatyard and so its views are of sailboats moored in the fog or bathed in sunlight. The water of Somes Sound is clear and lightly salty, and the Inn's lawn is sprinkled with chairs to relax in and a... More

The most beautiful place we have stayed in Maine. Fantastic view of the harbour from most suites and rooms. Dock to stroll out on with your coffee and take in the beautiful view of Southwest Harbour, Somes Sound and beyond. Away from the hustle and bustle. Extremely comfortable, clean and felt like home. Very friendly and helpful staff. Can not... More

The three main reasons why I chose this inn is 1. Price 2. They allow dogs 3. The views are amazing. My boyfriend and I just stayed here with our 9 month old puppy. We come to the Acadia region every year and try a new place each year. This location is beautiful and away from all the hussle and... More

So charming, so well appointed, and SO perfect for our needs! We stayed in the Pilot House and were thrilled with everything! We used the updated kitchen quite a bit during our stay - and it was perfect! The view from the screened in porch was picture postcard! Every element of our stay was considered - right down to the... My wife and I stayed in the room"Dauntless" in September. The view was unbelieveable! The Ocean, Acadia Mountains and small Islands off Mt Desert Island. We saw some spectacular Sunrise and Sunsets from this room and deck. Great view from the king size bed room plus a cozy sitting room and private Bathroom with a Claw Foot Tub. The Inn... More
