I stayed in one of The Moorings cottages while on an extended visit to Acadia National Park. It was wonderful! I had an amazing view of the harbor from my deck. The bed had a pillowtop, and was exceedingly comfortable after hiking all day in Acadia. The cottage had four windows, and was very sunny and homey. There was a... more

We arrived in less than desirable weather and the kind folks showed us choices and set us up for the night with a gentleman's aggreement. The cottage room made me cry as it was so pretty and cozy. Lots of character and charm with antiques galore. Living in a 100 year old house ourselves it definitly had that 'at home'... more

We stayed at the Moorings Inn for a long weekend in October. I chose it because, while we always go to the Bar Harbor area in October, my partner was laid off in December and I was looking for a cheaper alternative. I was looking at camping cabins mostly, as we weren't sure if we'd need to cook our meals... more

Stumbled across the Moorrings Inn after we had checked out a couple of other places on our list for Southwest Harbor. We had a room (king bed) looking right out over the water. The room was clean but nothing out of the ordinary. There is a continental breakfast included. Best part is the setting for the inn. It's right on... more

The Moorings Inn is a gracious old lady. Her stockings are a little crooked and her hair is not as well care for as when she was young, but, she is a true character with a quiet view of the harbor. My wife and I extended our stay, enjoyed the "quiet side of the Island" and would return again. If... more

We stayed at the Moorings Inn for two nights, first in "Island Queen" and then (as it became available ) in "Northern Light." Both rooms are in the lighthouse annex and face the shore and expansive views of Southwest Harbor. Of the two rooms, Northern Light has an extra feeling of privacy as it's the last room on the end... more

After reading some of the reviews for The mooring Inn I was a little leary about staying there, but because there is not a lot of lodging in this area we decided to give it a try What a wonderful surprise. Our room was very cozy and clean with a beautiful view of the ocean. The landscape was the hidden... more

This place is wonderful! My husband and I stayed at the Moorings Inn for three nights, words can’t describe the beauty. I have read some of the reviews and just can’t believe them. We went for our honeymoon; it was romantic, angelic, clean and friendly. If you are looking for a party time, some place that is close to the... more

There are a few reasons we would not recommend this hotel. 1. We purchased homemade candies from a shop downeast that we intended to take home as gifts to friends. The candy "disappeared" from the room. We contacted the hotel and were not satisfied by the response. 2.While the bathroom was clean, there was no room for anything other than... more

After reading prior reviews, I was concerned about staying at the Moorings Inn. We stayed 3 nights and was pleasantly pleased with the experience. It reminded me of a Michigan cottage. The Moorings has a wonderful setting on the water and a comfortable accommodations filled with some antiques and other interesting items. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you... more
