Some things had changed over 15 years, in part due to the death of the long-time innkeeper, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in October 2012. Made to feel we were interrupting hostess when checking in. Bed was OK but nothing special. Setting was nice with pond, ducks and loons in a.m. Breakfast room was crowded, almost had to wait to eat. Waffles overdone and somewhat hard; sausage links rather tasteless.

The picture on the website doesn't really look like the present grounds. We stayed in the pond house with connecting porch. Rooms were fair, nothing outstanding but it was in a country setting. The Collier House experience has greatly improved. You should disregard the negative reviews that they got in 2011. Apparently, they hired all new staff after the 2011 experience. Most important is, Chef Elizabeth Jutras, who provides unbelievably high quality meals.
