Went for the March Break school holiday for our second year in row, but first time at the Summit. Our room was comfortable enough, a seperate bedroom for the wife & I was nothing fancy, but good enough, a Murphy bed & couch for the kids was fine, the kitchenette was small, but worked for our purposes just fine. Our... more

I was here recently for a conference. It is about 10 minutes outside of a small town so you have to drive to do anything. The staff was very friendly. I had booked a single room and ended up with a room with a kitchen and a murphy bed ( comes down from the wall at night). The bed was... more

I stayed at the Grand Summit Hotel at Sunday River. I was shocked when I walked into my room and realized it was a Murphy Bed. I suppose it's my own doing, I probably didn't read enough on the room I chose. I was plesaed, however, buy the space in the room - and with the mini-kitchen. My biggest complaints... more

Skiing We enjoyed five ski days at the end of February. An incredibly vast resort for Eastern North America with a good selection of trails for all ability levels. We found most trails immediately completely groomed after a snowstorm and "freshies" were almost impossible to find except in the glades. However, the overnight grooming on almost all trails was exceptionally... more

We stayed at the Grand Summit Hotel at Sunday River over Christmas. I've stayed in better hostels. Staff is fine but Service gets "Terrible" because complaints to the hotel go unanswered. The place is old and many basic amenities are broken. The thermostat in our room was stuck on so it was a sweltering 80 degrees even when set 50.... more

We booked a last minute ski and stay special this past weekend. 2 Lift tickets, room, breakfast was included with no minimum stay required. We arrived early, picked up our lift tickets, left our bags at the ski check and we skied from the Summit over to Barker and South Ridge. Upon our return to the Summit, we checked in... more

I stayed at this hotel for three nights, Dec. 18-20, 2008. We wanted a ski getaway before Christmas. I liked this hotel very much. Check in was great. We arrived in the early evening. There was a lot of snow and it was cold, but a valet parker was very eager to help us out with our bags. We did... more

We stayed in a small studio room for a few days during the summer season. The hotel was more or less deserted, staff included, which caused a few inconveniences. The rooms are very dated, and the quality of bedding- mattress, linens and the whole package- was very poor in our room. The a/c was an indoor/outdoor wall unit that was... more

This was my first skiing trip and I am pleased that it was at Sunday River. Also it was my first trip to the states and was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. We stayed at the Grand Summit and it was perfectly adequate for our needs. Lovely big room, comfortable bed and a small useful kitchette. Housekeeping was good.... more

I stayed at the Grand Summit a few months back for a friends wedding. It was off season so I could tell you how "Sick!" the slopes were, but i hiked up to the summit, which was fun. The hotel was extremely nice and had tons of amenties included a heated pool. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking... more
