Booked this hotel by mistake, wanted the other Colonial on Route 1, got mixed up between the two (unfortunately). Great exterior and location but service and interior are terrible. Rooms are terribly old and small, bathroom had been installed in closet, shampoo bottles had been reused (label had been peeled off carefully and bottles refilled), supposedly heated pool must have... more

My husband and I stayed at the Colonial Inn for one night. I booked directly with the hotel. The location is perfect, right by the beginning of the Marginal Way that goes all the way to Perkins Cove and by a bunch of restaurants and shops. You absolutely cannot beat the location. The hotel, however, is old and shows it.... more

My husband, 3 y/o son and myself stayed here the last weekend in July. This hotel was perfect. The only thing we didn't like was that there was no mini fridge in the room, which we already knew about when we had booked. We just stocked our cooler with ice and kept our drinks in there. The room was very... more

The Colonial Inn was exactly what we expected and hoped for - a truly authentic Maine inn. It's quaint, seen better days, but we found it to be very clean, nicely sized rooms, great location and plenty of parking. We loved having breakfast on the large porch. The brand new outdoor pool and jacuzzi were fabulous! Everyone we dealt with,... more

We booked the Colonial on short notice but found the room very dark and depressing. The location was good and the continental breakfast wasn't bad, but the front desk clerk had one of the most unpleasant personalities I've come across in a motel manager to date. He answered questions in a minimum of words, wouldn't get up from his desk... more

My husband and I have just returned from a week at the Colonial Inn, in Ogunquit, Maine, where we've summered for the past ten years. The inn is one of the last of the old wood-frame Victorian hotels left in the area. For those who are used to Hiltons, Sheratons, or other commercial hotels owned by big chains or corporations,... more

Driving up to this inn, it looked charming and quaint as advertised. However, that sinking feeling began just beyond the lobby when we realized this inn was not as much "colonial inspired" as 1960s cheap remodel inspired. The cheesy wallpaper, powder blue hallways, cheap prints on the walls, particle board furniture, astroturf on the terrace, incessant banging doors and loud... more
