Our family has visited the Alamoosook Lakeside Inn three times for extended weekends in January and February. Each time we found clean, warm, quiet rooms, delicious breakfasts, and amazing access to Maine's winter beauty -- snowshoeing and X-country skiing on the lake and trails, hiking Great Pond Mountain, and driving the less than 1 hour route to Acadia to explore... My husband and I enjoyed our winter visit last year to the Alamoosook Lakeside Inn so much that we made a return visit this year again in early February. In contrast to last year's abundant snow, there was little this year, however, the beauty of the frozen lake, the always warm and welcoming atmosphere of the Inn (love that fire... More

The Alamoosook Lakeside Inn has everything needed for a relaxing get-away weekend or an extended vacation stay: quiet, clean, comfortable and private rooms, delicious breakfasts, a panoramic view of the beautiful lake, its islands and wildlife, the pleasure of chats with other guests, and the opportunity for quiet reading or reflection. I have been fortunate to be at the Inn... More

I was fortunate to spend the Christmas holiday at this delightful lakeside Inn. Gina (owner) was so welcoming, gracious and attentive. The room I stayed in was charming, comfortable, clean, warm and quiet with a Hummingbird theme. The food was delicious. Gina was very informative about local areas to explore. And there was fresh snow for snowshoeing! Thank you so... More

Stayed here for 3 days, 2 nights. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Spent the day out in a canoe, my husband fishing. Very peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Our room was very clean, bed was comfortable. Wished we could've opened the one window in the room (A/C in it) - to fall asleep to the sounds of nature. But, other than that,... More

If cleanliness, quiet , view and operator helpfulness are important to your stay, then this b&b is for you. The location on a quiet, beautiful lake depicted Maine's singular beauty and the b&b itself is all a visitor could want. Our room, The Hummingbird Room was comfortable, spacious, and during the particular steamy weekend we visited, its air conditioning was... More

We live in Maine and wanted to get away for a couple of days. Alamoosook Lakeside Inn is a very quiet beautiful place with six rooms on a lovely piece of lakefront property away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It was neither "posh" nor "rustic". It was just clean and comfortable and a good place to be.... More

We stayed at the Alamoosook for five nights, and we loved it. The decor is lovely and somewhat rustic, which is suitable as it is a lakeside lodge. We slept in three of the six rooms because we did not have a reservation to begin with, and we kept extending our stay. We stayed in room 4 the first night... More

Gorgeous setting right on the lake, lovely wooded surrounds, so relaxing and peaceful, we enjoyed our 2 night stay but longer would have been better. Convenient for visiting Bar Harbour. Gina is very nice and friendly, serves up a good breakfast, plus yummy muffins to keep you going for hours. Also very large recreation / games room in the basement... More

We love it! The setting on the lake is divine. Not too far from Bar Harbor and Acadia. Gina is a wonderful host and knows everything about the area. It's like having a concierge. We would definitely stay there again and again. More
