My wife and I stayed overnight here last weekend for my birthday. We got a very good price through a "secret hotels" offer. Like other Portland lodging, it's a lot cheaper in winter than in the summer. Our stay there was pretty much what we were expecting. The room was very clean and had a good flat screen TV, but... I reiterate the good experiences of others--breakfast, comfort, customer service. And, I'd add that for a small city, the access to public transportation is very good. You can walk, take the METRO bus, or use the La Quinta shuttle to and and from the Amtrak station/regional transport center. The train from Boston takes about two hours and La Quinta is... More

Stayed at the La Quinta in Portland again. It's a great hotel to stay if you have pets traveling with you. They stay for free!! Rooms are clean and basic, with a breakfast in the morning. More

I stayed at the La Quinta on New Year's Eve, in order to attend a concert in downtown Portland. I found it to be a very good value, especially for New Year's Eve (under $100). For the price point, La Quinta certainly delivers. The hotel appeared to be recently renovated: flat-screen tvs, newer furniture, linens, etc. Free breakfast and parking.... More

Although I miss living on the West End when I am here (I used to have family with whom I stayed, and love this peninsula), there is no better "value" hotel than this. It is clean, there is complimentary breakfast, and other than the occasional train passing and, as others note, loud heater, it also has two double sized beds... More

We stayed here prior to an early morning flight. The rooms, hallways and lobby were clean and more than adequate for the modest price we paid. If you stay here you can leave your car for up to 14 days. This saved us enough to pay for the hotel and to top it off the shuttle service to the airlort... More

Room was clean, breakfast was good, didn't sleep that great because of the loud heater and highway traffic outside the window. In a shadier part of town. More

At anything over $80 a night, I wouldn't bother. At $80 or under you'll find you're getting your money's worth...but you're also getting what you paid for. Pros - Comfortable bed - Clean room - Quick drive (8-10 mins) to downtown Portland Cons - Shower with barely any water pressure - The world's absolutely slowest internet connection. Don't expect to... More
