i stayed in one of the suite rooms facing the interior, I think they called that a garden view. First, the "suite" is unbelieveably crammed in with furniture, so that there is almost no room to walk. There is a king bed, a huge floor to ceiling armoire, a large desk, a chair, a sofa facing the armoire, an enormous... more

I am from Maine, lived in Portland for many years and now go back as a tourist. I wanted to check out the hotel myself as I had heard mixed reviews. I knew it would be noisy, since the location of the hotel is very near some of my past noisy, fun haunts. SO knowing to expect noise, I was... more

Stayed at the Portland Harbor Hotel as the first part of our visit to Maine and the USA for two nights. The hotel is in a prim location 1 block from the sea front and port and 2 blocks to the main shopping areas. We arrived late in the evening, from Portland Jetport (taxi journey about $30) around 11pm and... more

We visited Portland in August of 07 and were so happy with this hotel. We got there a little early and they were quick to give us a map of portland and told us how to take the ferry to Peaks Island since it was a beautiful day. The next day it rained and we came in from the rain... more

A few friends and I were visiting Portland, Maine this past weekend, and having thoroughly enjoyed the active Portland Old Port-area nightlife and dining, we decided that it'd be fun to stay in town. I've spent time at several Portland hotels over the years (see other reviews of the Eastland Park and Portland Regency), and we decided to try out... more

Celebrating my wife's birthday weekend , we selected the Portland Harbour Hotel for the friday and saturday nights . The personal on duty , valet , desk, waitstaff, were all excellent .The room was clean and fully supplied ,however was rather oddly layed out ,the view required minor gymnastics to enjoy because of a large intrusion right in the middle... more

This hotel is expensive compared to others in Portland. The staff was polite but unknowledgable and unprofessional; they all seemed to be college students home for vacation. It's very unwelcoming to be greeted in the room with a bottle of $6.00 filtered water on the bureau. more

We had a garden room and the view was of the small garden that was lit with twinkling lights on all the trees. VERY romantic. The restaurant servered great food. The floor was a little cold since it was located above the... more

A crane is dropping a big weight on a steel beam next door...every 20 seconds. Needless to day this destroyed any ambiance this hotel may offer...we're going to a Motel 6 on the Interstate today so we can get some rest. Certainly this is temporary but we thought you should know. more

At $285 per night, this is an ordinary hotel with very unsophisticated service. It starts with the valet service, that does not offer to open a door, but is there for a tip - $15 valet charge too. For a hotel that plays fancy, you wouldn't expect the greeting at the desk that my wife and I received, "how are... more
