What's not to like? The staff was very helpful. The parking was convenient to the room, which was very roomy and comfortable. The pub next door, The Waterworks, had good pub food. The breakfast was hearty. We'd like to come back and spend more time. more

We spent two nights here in August '09. The Inn is well located and one doesn't need a car if visiting most restaurants and sights within Rockland. Our room was large, comfortable, and well maintained. Breakfasts -- quiche, granola, fruit, and breads -- were outstanding. Manager Patricia went out of her way to be helpful. About the only suggestion we'd... more

Right in the heart of downtown Rockland , Maine within walking distance to everything this vibrant downtown has to offer, we found this hidden jewel. From the well appointed, period decorated rooms to having a wonderful homemade breakfast on the garden patio, all was wonderful. more

The Capt. Lindsey House Inn was wonderfully staffed and beautifully decorated. The rooms are sophistificated and ever so confortable. The breakfast was delicious and varied. Being right downtown allowed us to take advantage of museums, stores and the harbor without needing to use our car. Rockland is a great town with many superb restaurants and I would recommend the Capt.... more

My partner visited Rockland during November, when it was fairly quiet. The Captain Lindsey House met our expectations for a traditional B&B/inn. We especially appreciated its convenient location. I also liked reading in the downstairs sitting room. The innkeeper was very cordial and helpful without being invasive. more

We spent two nights here and were very pleased with the service, accomodations and breakfast. Ellen and Ken couln't do enough to make us comfortable. Afternoon tea and cookies or cake was an added surprise! Also a great little restaurant and pub right next door, The Waterworks. Would definitely recommend this inn to friends and family. more

We stayed at the Captain Lindsey for two nights before boarding a Schooner for a Windjammer cruise. It was really just terrific. It is a bit more like a very small inn but with the intimacy of a bed and breakfast. The furniture and decor are top rate, high quality, the real deal antiques. The breakfasts were served buffet style,... more

We loved the Captain Lindsey House. Great service, food and accomodations. The inn has a storied history and will hopefully continue for years to come. It has an excellent location near the waterfront. It is set back from Main street, so it is fairly quite. The back garden is lovely and so are the rooms. We hope to return in... more

Just returned from a week in Maine where we spent two nights at the Capt. Lindsey Inn. From the minute we walked in the front door, we felt right at home. The Innkeepers were great, the breakfast was wonderful, as were the accommodations. Absolutely loved the homemade granola. Would definitely stay there again. more

We stayed at the Captain Lindsey House for a three day get away. The inn is decorated with lovely antiques and includes an outdoor courtyard where we ate breakfast and relaxed in the evenings. Staff was friendly and very helpful in booking sailing excursions etc. Breakfast was wonderful. We found the location very convenient to the harbor in Rockland (an... more
