Our stay at the Samoset was good but could have been better. The rooms were clean and as described in the hotel's web-site. After a day of travel with three kids we decided to eat at the hotel rather than load everyone in to the car on a rainy night. We felt very neglected at the Breakwater Cafe. Our waitress... more

We came to Samoset for a short stay in late October. It was a bit hard to find in the dark even with the Sat Nav. Overall, The Samoset feels a little tired. The main problem seems to be that the Samoset is riding on its sea front location and could benefit from a makeover. The general decor is all... more

My husband and I decided on a whim to go to The Samoset around Labor Day weekend. We've been there many times before and always enjoy it. It is really relaxing to show up at a place and have all services right on site. We enjoyed a few drinks poolside in the sun overlooking the ocean, and then headed up... more

This is not a super-luxurious resort and the furniture and fixturesare getting a little old. That being said, it's well-maintained and I certainly did not lack for any conveniences. The golf course is great, the scenery is spectacular and the grounds are beautiful. Whatever Samoset misses in a comparison with other 'luxury' resorts, it more than makes up for it... more

We stayed in a deluxe ocean view suite. While exspensive it suited our needs - traveling with a 2 1/2 year old. You enter an alcove area, if you go left it was a large bedroom (2 queens) w/seperate bath (walk in shower, soaking tub). If you went right it was the living space with couch, tv, etc & another... more

Located on the ocean, the views are spectacular. The room was spacious and the ocean view with balcony hard to beat. The room was newly appointed and very comfortable and very, very quiet. We golfed the 5 days we were there and did not tire of the course, every hole is unique, many of the holes have ocean views as... more

We enjoyed a large room (for large price) with balcony-ette, and decent ocean view, but also a great view of other rooms and visitors. Nice area between the wings where families can sit in quaint chairs and broadcast their conversations to all the balconies. Although the hotel is non-smoking, or perhaps because, the balconies are a popular place for cigar... more

Imagine a place with gorgeous views, lovely grounds, and a killer pool. Now imagine a valet that is a no-show, musty smells, and broken items in your room. That's the Samoset Resort. Here are my no nonsense pros and cons: Pros: Great views, beautiful lawns and property, playground, golf and tennis, great toiletries, large room, flat screen TV's, very quiet... more

Stayed here for 2 nights after spending 2 nights at Bar Harbor Inn up the coast. Quiet, remote location (actually, the closest neighboring property is a cemetery) extending out into the bay. The nickname "Pebble Beach of the East" is fairly well-deserved, tho this is a protected bay and not open ocean water. Very good golf course and decent pool.... more

We just got back from 4 nights at the Samoset in August. I was with my husband and 4 year old daughter. When booking the hotel months ago, I noticed there was only one rate/option available (below the $450 dollar a night suite). Supposedly "most" of the rooms have at least an ocean view. I requested an ocean view when... more
