We were extremely pleased with every phase of our daughter's wedding that included; planning with Bob and Diane, tent setup/arrangement, food/beverage service, beach ceremony and morning after buffet. The Inn was booked for wedding guests and to a person all were very pleased with their two day stay at the Higgins Beach Inn. A number of guests commented on the... more

My husband and daughter and I have been staying at the HBI for the last 8 years--and we keep coming back for the charming atmostphere, lovely cozy rooms and fantastic food at Garofalos, the Inn restaurant!! The seafood aglio olio is amazing!! The owners, Diane and Bob, are gracious and welcoming, always seeking to add to our experience at the... more

We have been going to this Inn for 10 years, both spring and summer. The Inn is very well run, with a great staff from morning to evening. Bob and Diane ( the owners) have always made our stay more than memorable. This well maintained 100 year old country inn, is nicely situated, with an easy walk to a beautiful... more

My husband and I had been wanting to try Garafalo's Restaurant, located in the Higgins Beach Inn) for a few years...we finally made it there and were not disappointed. We did not have reservations (on a Saturday evening), but they managed to find us a table on the porch setting (through the main dining room)...the table was lovely. the restaurant... more

My wife and I spent one night, one too many, at this sad inn. We had a room with a private bathroom - we've had larger bathrooms on cruise ships! The water pressure in the shower was erratic, hot water didn't arrive for 2+ minutes followed by erratic hot/cold during the shower time. No air conditioning - don' let Maine... more

Higgins Beach Inn is a block from the beach, has great food and is completely charming. My friend and I were on a dash to Northern Maine so were guests for only one night but made a point of returning for dinner on Saturday night on our way South. The food was amazing! I look forward to spending more time... more

We rent a house for two weeks every summer in Scarborough (Pine Point). We had heard the inn might be a good possibility if we ever wanted to come up for an additional weekend or two throughout the summer. So, we decided to check out the inn for breakfast one morning. Although we did not stay there, our experience at... more

Everything about our experience at the HBI was terrific! We had gone there to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and came away - more glad than ever - that we had chosen the HBI to mark that special date. Although the Inn is creaky and quirky, given its age that's what makes it so charming. The room, too, had a... more

The Higgins Beach Inn is the only game in town, and boy, do they act like it. I understand an old place is going to be small, a little poky, and sometimes inconvenient. What usually makes up for those things, however, are owners who strive to give you the best experience and customer service. No such luck here. The owners... more

We enjoyed our visit last Saturday night (Sept. 27th). The inn is very charming and the room was very comfortable. There were three of us in the room with two twin beds. Fortunately, my wife and I were able to snuggle and fit in the twin bed for one night. My daughter had the other bed. The hotel was quiet... more
