My husband and I stayed at the Watchtide and loved everything -- the Lucy room, the private bath, the gourmet breakfasts, and the wonderful hosts who were generous with their time and their suggestions. So pleased were we that when I had to return to the area by myself, I again called the Watchtide and stayed in The Brigadier room... more

We had a lovely time at the Watchtide. The room was comfortable. The breakfasts were hearty and some of the most imaginative breakfast fare we have ever had. The host was gracious and informative. No complaints here. more

My husband and I were looking for a beautiful B and B. We were thrilled with Watchtide. The rooms are decorated with excellent taste. The Inn Keeper, Nancy, is a warm and welcoming person. She is also a great cook! We looked forward to breakfast each moring. Nancy was informative and gracious and also gave us good tips on what... more

We try to visit Maine every year and always stay at Watchtide by the Sea and have been coming for years for vacation getaways. The porch is so comfortable, the breakfasts are delicious, and the surroundings are like home. Innkeeper Nancy Nellis is well informed about the area and always has a fabulous suggestion about activities and places to see,... more

Strange that our experience in the same place was so different than what others described. The building was built in the 1700,s and, yes, has the old building characteristics one would expect. But certainly not anything offensive! Our room was clean and charming. The bed was comfortable and noise was not a problem. The common rooms were nicely appointed and... more

Booked this B & B on the internet as it looked like a great place to relax and enjoy the coast of Maine. Upon arrival, we were cheerfully welcomed by Nancy, the innkeeper, and even though we were early, our room was available and we were settled in within minutes. I asked if we could have a bit more heat... more

Watchtide was the highlight of a 14 day trip to New England. The B&B was so beautiful and you could tell that it's owners, especially Nancy-Linn Nelis, loved the place and enjoyed sharing it with their guests. The room was beautiful in every detail. My husband and I met some lovely people and the view from the huge sun porch... more

The reviewer that trashed this inn must have stayed at a different place. We also stayed in the Eleanor Roosevelt suite and found it to quite comfortable and very romantic. The inn keeper was charming and helpful. The "highway" outside was part of Route 1, but in this part of Maine, even on a summer weekend, it was hardly busy.... more

My husband and I took our first trip to Maine this summer and enjoyed every minute. We selected "Watchtide" for our first 3 nights based on our internet searching. We expected a quaint, old fashioned and historic Inn, full of antiques and charming details, delightful breakfasts, and a centralized location for exploring both directions. We were not disappointed. It is... more
