I stayed overnight - having traveled from Nova Scotia. While the motel is clearly older the room was spotless and smelled fresh. The staff were unbelievably friendly and courteous. I read a bad review of this hotel from a few years ago, and I have to admit that I had doubts about staying at the hotel after reading it. Fortunately I was surprised when I got to the hotel. We stayed at the Brookside motel and were very disappointed. I believe they operate the restaurant next door which was pretty good. The motel has some serious problems. When I was there the septic was malfunctiong. The bed coverings were literally tatered. There was a big hole in the bathroom where the light/fan? used to be. There were major stains... more
