There is nothing particularly special about this hotel; the rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed, the public areas are well kept and the free breakfast adequate. What sets this place apart from other nearby accommodations is service. I think we were unlucky to have been allocated room 118 ! The room itself was to a high standard as was the rest of the hotel. A clean and well-kept hotel, far enough off route 95 to be pastoral and quiet. Helpful staff, clean and spacious rooms. In exchange for that, you must get back on I-95 and drive to the next 1-2 exits to get into downtown Portland. Take about 15 minutes. Stayed 8/12-15th 2009. Spacious Suites and clean! (had two separate suites) Kept the fact that it was a dog friendly hotel from spouse & in laws. They found out on the last day. Other than seeing a dog in the hotel they wouldn't have known. Food was readily available & good (coffee hot). Plenty of TV stations to choose from.... more

Hotel is conveniently located, no frills, but small suites with kitchenette and sofa/chair adequate for one person, perhaps a couple if you don't spend much time there. Friendly staff, clean rooms. There are only about six TV stations so plan to be bored if you watch TV! more

We had out honeymoon in Portland, and found a great bargain at the Holiday Inn Express! The rooms were just scrumtious! And so were the cinnamon bunz!
