We recently had the opportunity to stay at one of the nicest bed and breakfasts we have ever stayed in. The Inn at Southwest is located in Southwest Harbor, Maine. We've stayed at the Inn at Southwest several times now, over the past 2 years. The innkeepers make us feel at home, with excellent and inventive breakfasts (or just the simple oatmeal that my husband prefers), comfortable beds with lots of pillows, and a wonderful living room with a fireplace, tea and coffee service, and afternoon home-made cookies. My family and I have been coming to the Inn at Southwest for seven years. The owners are very kind and friendly and treat you like family. The rooms and common areas for lounging and dining have all been renovated; the food is excellent and service unparalleled. We visited Maine for the first time and spent 4 nights at the Inn at Southwest. It was wonderful! The innkeepers are warm, welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable about the area and things to do nearby. The breakfasts were different every day, and the food was delicious. the Inn at Southwest Harbor is a wonderful place to stay if you want friendly hosts, comfy Victorian atmosphere, good food and lots of books to browse through. I felt like I was visiting a dear old friend who took care of my every need. Alos a great location to visit all of Mt Desert Island and Acadia National Park. more
