I had my weddng rings stolen possibly by one of their shady room cleaning staff. Spent an entire day with detectives and working on a police report. Management is terrible and refused to reimburse me for the day that my husband young son and myself had to spend trying to figure out who had stolen my rings. People had keys... more

After coming to York beach year after year with my family, I decided to take my husband for the weekend. We had stayed at the Anchorage as a family (obviously in a family style room) numerous times and always enjoyed it. My Husband and I sayed in one of the suites (not the new Ocean Suites), But a oom with... more

So I have a business appt in Maine and decide to stay at the Anchorage Inn. I go in and register and pay top dollar for a so so motel/. The next day, I leave and realize I left my new dress clothes on the bed. I call right away and get the " I will call you back" story.... more

I got married over at Short Sands Beach this past month and had my wedding at the Union Bluff Meeting House. Since my husband and I are from CT, all of our wedding guests had to travel over 2 hours to our wedding. A majority of them chose to stay at the Anchorage, so I made them all "welcome bags"... more

My sister, a friend of ours, and I traveled to New England for some leaf peeping and began our trip in York, Maine at The Anchorage Inn. What a mistake that was!! Upon our early evening arrival, after driving from Boston, we were greeted with a less than enthusiastic desk clerk who informed us that they were not able to... more

Can't think of any reason whatsoever to stay at this place! The location offers nothing except the Anchorage's own restaurant and the beach - and you have to cross a busy road to get to either. It is pretty far from the shopping and other restaurants in York/York Beach. The staff was less than friendly or helpful on the phone... more

We went to York for a wedding in the begining of Sept 09 and stayed at the Anchorage Inn. It was the worst place I have ever stayed. The room had a funky smell to it for starters and for $130 per night it was very small. The decor was seriously out dated circa 1970. The bed and sheets were... more

My wife called the Anchorage to resesrve a room. I have a 19 year old daughter & a 25 year old son. We reserved a room with 2 double beds & a cot since my daughter & son could not sleep together. We were told that we would be in the front building with an ocean view because they dont... more

Our room was ready early. The room was well appointed and extremely clean. We had a beautful view of Nubble Lighthouse and the ocean from our room. We could hear the surf at night. They had lovely facilities: multiple indoor and outdoor pools and jacuzzis, wight and exercise room, breakfast room and bar. The staff were informative and very helpful.... more

We also were concerned about the many bad reviews online. Our family has been vacationing in York for decades but generally for day trips or we rent a place.... so when we decided to do just one night in a hotel, The Anchorage was our first choice. We were not disappointed. We loved the room in the Atrium and my... more
