Emmitsburg is a small town with an old fashioned Main Street. They barely have street lights and a trip up Main street will take you right back to Pennsylvania in a few minutes. The town has shops (and metered parking) but I didn't get to see the shops. I did get to have dinner at the Carriage House Inn which... more

The Carriage House Inn is one of the most consistant and best restaurants in the area. It always serves good quality with a flair. The atmosphere is quaint and relaxed. Last visit featured soft easy listening big band music that made us want to linger. The staff is very friendly and easy to work with with no pushing or aggression... more
