It has been a while since we stayed here...but the awful memories linger. I almost forgot the lady's name...but it's Donna...yes that's right. Before we arrived, we called for directions and she was very RUDE to my husband..which is strange...since she doen't even live on the premises. When we got there ...no one was to be found. We had to... more

My husband and I spend 3 nights in a luxury room. Very comfortable room, historic inn. Donna and Pete made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was fun every morning; all the guests compared notes and got to know each other. Donna's food was wonderful and creative (honeydew melon with sweet lime juice; who knew?) and she found my husband a... more

We were given a choice of rooms once we arrived, which was a nice plus. The room was very spacious, quite bright with large windows and comfortable temp. (a/c). Although the private bathroom could use a new sink and updating, it is an old inn with very high ceilings and huge doors, which outweigh the age of the appointments. Everything... more

My wife and I just returned from spending the July 4th weekend at the Captain Freeman Inn. Our experience couldn't have been any better. We found the inn beautiful and our room was perfect. If cleanliness is important to you, then look no further. The Inn, as well as our room, had a fresh scent throughout (often not the case... more

This was the last B&B we stayed in on our tour round New England, and it was by far the worst. We booked it on the basis of the review in Fodor's New England, and can only say that this review must have been written when the previous owners were in place. Donna was 'sharp' over the phone, but I... more

I really hate to say things like this but when you are treated so rudely you just have to speak up. Donna the owner is a crab plain and simple. About the hotel… The grounds were okay but a bit overgrown with weeds and bits of trash. The room was okay--a bit out dated and the furniture was cheap. I... more

We have stayed at this Inn many, many times over the years and always loved it. About two years ago it was taken over by new owners and our recent stay was really disappointing. First, I must agree with the other posting.....Donna, the Innkeeper, does not have the personality to be dealing with the public. She is too gruff and... more

We stayed at the Inn in August for a beautiful weekend. I have read the previous messages about the inn-keepers and have to say that although they are not the warmest hosts I have met, they were fine. They were not rude, but they definitely preferred their contact kept to a minimum with the guests. I think they also live... more

As several other guests have commented, we too thought the Captain Freeman Inn was beautiful, but the hostess definitely left much to be desired. My wife has serious food allergies, so I thoughtfully informed the hostess of this when I was booking the hotel. To make sure she was clear on what it all meant, I attempted to clarify which... more

I was part of a large group of people in town for a wedding in Brewster. The out of town guests took over practically every Inn in Brewster and most every one got good reviews-- EXCEPT The Captain Freeman. Beautiful though it is, the owners were nasty, rude, and ill-tempered. In addition to being extrememly unpleasent all weekend, they kicked... more
